The 2 cjc91s under the scrog are coming along. I've stopped training so it easy going now. Little over 3 weeks in flower now.

Well, I finally crossed the line. I do believe I'm looking at some N toxicity going on here with the Tangie clone. It's not to bad. I think a few waterings with just calnit and Epsom will help.
Just in case it's light intensity I've turned them down a little to. But I'm pretty sure I'm dancing on the edge of if not wading my feet in N tox.

The dark veins, slightly bowing, hot tips, deep green, and most of all odd new growth. The overall growth rate and posture has dropped and some yellowing of leaf.

I'll post her progress on a few days.

You really make me miss SCROG growing bro.... just love your setup. coming along so nice & you make it
look easy... and we know it's not.

I used to use croche' needles to coax my budsites up thru the holes of green plastic garden fencing.... lol.

Just Awesome

@Carty thank you Sir.

Well, I've been moving things around again. It's still a scrog technically..lol I'm finding the floater screen to be a very effective and a mobile alternative to a framed screen.

I'm working with the idea of starting with a small screen 12x12" in veg stage. Once they enter flower ya remove it and place a larger one 20x22 on top. Train it out for 2.5-3wks and then let her go.

My Tangie is now a solid 4' around. Looks like a large bowl. Small growth in the center surrounded by taller bud on the perimeter. I'll get a pic of her tonight.

If ya miss scrogs. Give this little tweak a try. At this point I doubt I'll ever run a framed scrog again. This is way more convenient.

4x8 update...

First up the Tangie. She's getting big.

The solo cjc91 seems happy

The cjc91s are doing great.

Finally got the Durban Poison in there. This is just before I pull all growth under. It's her first week in flower.
IMG_20240828_202241890.jpg

So ya might notice the scrog frame is now gone. I cut the screen out, removed the frame, and left the screens in place. Seems to be working fine. I'm getting a nice 4x4 blanket of bud on the one side.

So each plant has it's own mobile screen right? How cool, you up pot the plant and upgrade to the larger screen, walla. once you get it trained, do you ever remove the screen or leave it in place for control.?

Bro, anyone growing in a small space can learn a lot from viewing your techniques and tweaks. you tweeker. hahha..

Looks Amazing, Jealous too...... lol.

My flower tent is designed for taller plants at 2ft x 2 1/2ft x 6ft... the right strain I could fill that tent with just 1, maybe 2 plants using this method of your'n.

I had these round metal grills for remote BBQ'n.... you just stick 3 long prongs into the ground and you have a simple raised grill of about 16". I was looking at it one day unused and it hit me... single SCROG growing... oh baby.
it worked amazingly well.. McGyver growing big time.

Your killing it man

Thanks Carty, I'm just having fun. I love to play around with plants and see just how much I can coax out of them.

Yes, I will be leaving the screens in place throughout flower.

I tried the train with a screen and remove it but if ya look at C99 she's sagging like 70yr old ball sacks. So I'm not real impressed with all that. I thought the stems would hold her better but is what it is. Scrapping that idea.

The floater is easy and quick. I'm thinking of making some 12x12 screens for smaller plants. The screens are easy to remove so once up potted I'll place a larger screen 20x20 to finish the plant. A 20x20 will fit 4 nicely in a 4x4 space.

Tangie has been the first one to get a floater and keep it into flower. I gotta say I am hooked on how things are going. She's a solid 4+ft around.

If your in such a small grow space a screen would be productive. I use a roll of 2'x30' wire fencing I cut to size. The 2"x3" holes are perfect.

I'll be using a floater on jans grow off in a 5gal. I'm growing an auto so start with 12" and go from there. I'm excited to give it a go on autos.

I'd encourage you to try some small screens. With them being mobile it kinda changes the game. Like I said earlier. I'll prob never make another scrog frame. This is way easier and more convenient.

It is so awesome to watch people learn and improve upon techniques.. you can hear the excitement in your voice almost as your typing this up just what it's done for changing growth and yield.. the uniformity is amazing and your description is perfect.. "Coaxing". One great breeder once told me. When you find something that works for you, don't change it up.. perfect it. Dial it in.. Deadvet, creator of Celtic Stone. should of listened. haha.

Wish I had access to all my old photos of single scrog plants I did... never thought of trying it with an auto... not sure why either.

Oh, so your going to be in the Auto side of that contest huh? should be fun, don't show me up to bad ok... lol

Yep snd no real rules to grow just that we all start the same week. Any medium any training or none. You all decide how you grow. I just want to see the differences in everyone’s grow and their grow styles. Everyone has the same seeds from the same source. Autos and photos. I think there will be 4 of each. I sent 6 envelopes out. Myself and Carty already had both seeds. (From the same source).

This is a great idea I'm gonna get me a role cause I Been wanting to scrog but wasn't sure how I'd go about it now I do thank you @greenmobster440. I use string pulling most stems back but that looks way easier then tying pulling putting wholes in the pots then having to pull out more and more after time really great idea and killer plants. I only have my 2x4 and the rest of my closet which is about 2x2 so that will def maximize my yield.

Sounds great Joe. I totally get the tying down gig. It's effective but takes a lot of time.

That 2x30' 2"x3" wire fencing is the ticket. Large enough holes to keep them spread out pretty evenly and easy to remove and reposition if needed. Also light weight and much stronger than any netting.
After using these floater screens I'll never make another scrog frame again..lol.

4x8 update.....

Been another week of fun. Things are budding all over and the funk level with an open tent is marvelous. I currently have 8 plants stuffed ..yeah I said stuffed in there. I'll be glad when that big Cindy gets outta the way.

She's on her last leg. I've got her close to the door for easy access. I'm thinking she'll be done early next week.

The Durban Poison is nearing 2 weeks flower and right on time. It won't take her long to fill that floater screen. About another week of pulling her growth under and she'll be ready to go.

That's about it for this week. Anxious to get Cindy harvested to make more room. The flower tent will finish with 7 plants.

Can't say enough about these floater screens. It's nice to not have to tie down a plant every few days. Just pull it under and done.

I got a chance to clean out a little undergrowth on my last Tangie. She's the final nail in the rerun thread.

After a up potting and a N tox mishap I expect to see some better posture from her in the next few days. She's hungry and just got a good old dose of jacks bloom for her first night 12/12. She will brighten up soon. This is going to be another big plant.

Cap Junky Chem91

4+ weeks...looks like a mirror image but it's not. These are the fruitiest plants I've grown in a while. This mini tower is 8-10" above the screen and filling in the spaces. Frost and funk have appeared as well.
