So i germinated 4 G-13 Poison Dwarf auto-flowering seeds and 1 Quicksilver auto-flowering FEMINZED seed that came free with my order.
I left them in 2 seperate cups of water so not as to lose the female seed and the 4 regular seeds sprouted and i palnted them 1/2 hour ago.
The Quicksilver seed did not sprout yet but looks white around the crack, so after i planted the others i resorted back to the paper towel method. I put the seed in between 2 moist paper towels in a sandwich bag and covered it with a plastic foldgers coffee lid, and its on my heater downstairs which stays warm, even humid.

I used Fox Farms Ocean Forest in 9" plastic pots. I have 3 gallon bags, and as i started to fill one and i changed my mind and drove to the local nursery and got the 9" pots.

I only used FFOF up til about 3-4 inches.
I had a seperate pot i mixed in 1/3 perlite and filled the remaining 3-4 inches. I thought this would give the roots less nutes and more air/room to grow.

I placed them under my T-5's. A 4 ft. 4 tube set up with 2-3000k and 2-65ook 5000 lumen bulbs shared with the already 5 bag seed "experiment" plants i was already growing.

I used tin foil on the back wall and taped to the lights on the front, as seen in the pics.
I fiqured 60-70% reflection is better than 0%.

So, i'll check on the lady before i go to bed tonight and see if she sprouted.

Also it turns out i will have the funds in 4-6 weeks (about $900) to spend on a better set up. YIPPY. :hubba:

I plan on buying a 48"x48"x76" grow tent, more T'5's lights so i'll have a total of 12 bulbs which equals 60,000 lumens.
A digital ph tester, up/down chems, in-line air vent/fan, digital humidity/temp reader, digital timers and even a carbon filter of some sort, possibly home made.

I'm VERY excited and nervous at the same time that i'll %^&* it up.
At least i learned a LOT so far here from all you AWESOME  folks.

I'll post pics of when/if she sprouts....................peace :D

The pic on the left is when i was speaking about the tin foil.

The other 2 pics ( out of 5 ) are of the bag seed experiment i was doing as a learning tool. They are "out of the dirt" now about 3- 3 1/2 weeks.

Pots are looking good sittin there waiting.
Dont think your going to need much of a filter growing a NL breed.
Other plants are looking good too.
Ill follow along.
Good luck.
And I see Attitude has a Cali Hash plant as the freebe now. You ordered at the right time to get a free auto.

Awesome, you should do a journal too, so we can compare "notes"

I know the quicksilver is not an actual "dwarf', but they claim it will NOT get out of control.
Here is there description;

G13 Labs Quicksilver Feminised Autoflowering Seeds

Quicksilver is named for her autoflowering capabilities and her unreal tight glistening resin crystals that cover her well formed perfect buds, which are like a layer of pure silver. Quicksilver has great advantages for growing indoors and out due to her being auto-flowering, she will start to flower according to her age rather than the give light cycle.
Quicksilver normally begins flowering around 6 to 8 weeks.
Not to be confused, Quicksilver does not qualify as a dwarf cannabis strain, however she will never grow out of control!

Here is the decription of the 4 Poison Dwarf's;

So i checked on the feminized seed this morning that i transfered to a paper towel and STILL NO sprouting.
It wants to crack as white is showing where the crack is.
I hope it sprouts, i really wanted to try a fem.

I also took a spray bottle, filled it with bottled water and lightly sprayed the middle of the pots where i planted the poison dwarf seeds, just to add a little moisture so as not to dry out the baby roots under the lights.

Take down the foil and save it for cooking or making hats. It is a poor reflector and can cause hot spots that will burn your plants. Flat white paint is far better than foil. Or go to the dollar store and get a mylar space blanket. Just because something looks like it is a good reflector of light does not mean that it is.

You love those tin foil hats don't you, lol.

I did read it was 60-70% reflective, but i did not know about hot spots.
The plants do have yellow spots and some burning. I thought this was from nute burn since MG has time released nutes and i love to water, or at least i did.( trying to curb that).

Ok, you win, i'll take down the foil, but can you post those instructions for the hat?, as i don't like to waste, maybe i'll pick up the winning lotto #'s, lol.

I dont know what a space blanket is but if its only a dollar, its cheaper than foil, lol.

Thanks again, advise ALWAYS welcome and often NEEDED.

Peace..........................................

Forget just a hat. I like to wrap my whole head up in foil and tear little eyeholes.
Then I sit at the kitchen table and pretend Im King Author.
(yes the table is round)
Just dont call the wife a wench while doing it. Frying pans to the head have a magical power if causing pain through that mighty foil armor.

Could you PLEASE tell me what you smoke just before you decide to do that? :D

THG;

Your right, tin foil sucks, but it appears the emergency blankets are'nt much better. This is what was in the 2nd thread you provided.

I guess i'll just wait til i get the grow tent and leave it the way it is.
I'll post pics later after i check on the fem seed STILL germinating.

Emergency Blankets:These are ultra thin polyester blankets that are sold in most camping stores and are constructed of a single layer of polyester film that is covered with a layer of vapor deposited aluminum. It is not very effective at reflecting light because it is so thin. Holding it between you and a light source, many small holes are noticed at the intersections of creases and the entire blanket is translucent to begin with, this coupled with the many creases that are in it when you purchase it takes away a significant amount of it reflectivity. It is very easily creased as well which also detracts from its ability to reflect light. And while it is reflects nearly 90% of radiant heat energy, it is only able to reflect around 70% of the light. The largest advantage of using this type of material is that it is very cheap and therefore easily replaced. Emergency blankets can create hotspots if not attached flush to the wall so it is important that no air gaps exist between it and your supporting wall. The easiest way to attach this is to use tape (Aluminum or metal tape is recommended), as it tears very easily once it is cut or punctured.

Aluminum Foil: Aluminum foil is no more than 55% reflective - if used, make sure that the dull side is the one that is used to reflect the light. When it becomes creased its reflectivity is even lower (around 35%.) It is also very dangerous to use because it creates hotspots easily, is electrically conductive, and is a fire hazard when it is in close contact with HID lighting. Attaching this to walls is a pain and usually using aluminum tape or glue is the best way. This should only be used as a last resort, and even then its usefulness is questionable.

Tequila and Thai Sticks.
Breakfast of Champions.

Panda film (a visqueen style plastic that is light proof, black on one side and reflective white on the other side) is relatively inexpensive and many hydro stores sell it by the foot and the rolls are 10 feet wide...

Happy Growing!

Nothing yet sprouting from the dirt.

The quicksilver feminized seed stiil has not sprouted in the paper towel.
I picked up the seed and gave it a little pinch and heard a little crack, so i decided to go back to the cup method. I put 2" of water in a cup and put the seed into it. It floated and would not sink even when i poked it with my finger.
Little air bubbles came out of the seed.

I hope these seeds are going to sprout as i invested money i really did'nt have betting on this too work.
Oh well, it would'nt be the 1st time in life things went aray.

Ok, nothing yet this morning, now i'm thinking the quicksilver feminized seed is NOT going to sprout.
Well, it was free anyhow with my order.

Last night i put another 3 Poison Dwarf seeds into a cup of bottled water.
I fiqure since i only have 4 of them in dirt now, which still have not broken ground, and the quicksilver probably won't sprout, plus the males i'll be getting rid of once they show sex.

I hope they break through the dirt soon, its been 4 days,
getting worried.
