I don't believe in the homes, they don't get as good of care as at home. Unfortunately those doing the care taking have it really hard on mind, body, and spirit. Stay strong @MariJan
Yes me either. That is why I Retired in 2006. We thought my dad had dementia but it was one of his drugs making him like a zombie. That drug stopped. Then he recovered completely. They were living on hamburgers when I got here. I guess that all dad would cook and mom never cooked. That woman can’t boil water. Grandma Nellie was the live in Nanny. Dad paid her she pretty much raised us while they both worked long hours. I dud gave a good childhood mostly. The year or 2 dad was laid up from the Drunk Driver that almost killed him. Second worst time of my life. He was in the hospital for 6 months then recuperating. It took like a year and a half before he went back to work. We lived in liversausage. I will never eat that crap again. Anyway I guess you can tell by now I am stoned. Lol…Im rambling. I learned my love of all things from her. She was the best woman and raised a great son. I am thankful for all 61 years and 10 months I got to be his daughter. Mom is all alone fir the first time in More than 67 years. I think it broke her. She has been extra spicy lately. We all try to keep her spirit's up, but she is not the same . She only wants to stay in bed. I am not letting that happen. She always says you cant make me. I say ok Mom. Then we do what I want anyway.
