So, about 3 days ago, I planted some seeds in a plastic container. One of them is germinating quite nicely. The little root is about an inch long, so I transplanted it in a pot. It's not in the sun sun, getting some warmth. I'm hoping the change of housing didn't shock it too much.

I really know know what kind it is. The seeds were given to me by someone who collects them. But, if I get lucky with this one I will start collecting seeds from the good stuff (and asking what the name of the god stuff is ehe).

what kind of light are u usin it wont grow with out light are u growin indoors our outdoors

I'm growing it indoor. Since it hasn't poked its head out of the soil yet, it's on the windowsile. As I've mention a couple of times. This is my first time growing weed, so I don't plan on going ALL OUT, but I will be buy a grow light next time I go to town mainly because the plant will be kept in a fairly dark room.

The seed poked it's head out of the soil. It has the two leaves that every plant has and I can see some of the actual leaf in the middle. The initial leaves are greenish/yellow with a spot of purple.

good luck KITTY, i read your thread on what you plan on doing and it sounds good. but, there are a few things you can as too as the weeks go by. starting with a light then ventilation, then add what ever you think you are gona need along the way, but those 2 are imperetive :aok:

I am heading out to Lowes today to figure out how much lamps are. I have nearly no money at this moment, so I will most likely have to rely on the sun and give it lots of love. Ultimate test will be in a couple of months when it's being smoked. If it passes hubby's seal of approval, I'm sure he won't mind us spending a few dollar on a more interesting set up!

Also, I am currently wondering what I'll do "plant food wise". I usually give cold coffee to my plants because they are either tropical or acidic, but I don't believe that marijuana is...

All this talk about home made alternative is making me feel like an Amish!

go with a proven GROW/BLOOM feeds, from CANNA or (what i use) IONIC. you dontneed to go big in your grow either i set mine up for less than 50 quid (i live in UK). and i have 3 ladies in there now looking good. cfl's do a good job for you if you only after an oz or 2 of your own homegrown :aok: there are quite alot of people on this forum using them.

Computer died, so I wasn't able to post.

Steve (that's what I named my plant) is doing... Ok. It's stretchign toward the light a lot (normal bulb... we're flat broke). but it IS growing. Slow.
