I'm asleep by 8 or 9 every night and wake up like clock work by 5 am. Haven't used an alarm in many years.
I haven't used a wakeup alarm since 1980.

While I don't need it, Miss Layla is also a highly reliable alarm. She comes in and roots and snuggles while wiggling and moaning to tell me it's time.

The part that is a hoot, is that if it is close to time to get up and I fart in bed, she will come get me up early.

If I instead get up and go to the bathroom to fart and then go back to bed, she ignores it and gets me up at her regular time.

Good morning, Misfits! Starting out with 55 degrees and sunshine. All the loads of leaves I raked/sucked up yesterday magically reappeared this morning and will repeat until the maples are bald. Fall is falling. White stuff is next on the calendar.

Out of ranch gas and diesel fuel, and Lord knows the prices spiked over the last few days. Gotta have it, so it's time to bite the bullet and buy some even if it's higher than a gariff's testicals.

^^^^ Ain't that the truth! Especially with the little dog. I'll be munching something and he'll be standing there watching every move. I'll break him off a little bite, he'll munch it and then look at me like he's saying, "Bro, that wasn't half!"

Old Hen & Pullet headed off to the farmer's market and she called me to tell me that the local gas station was down to $307.9. Great deal, huh? Figured it wasn't gonna get any cheaper, so I loaded up 5 5 gallon cans and two diesel 5 gallon cans. Got there and it was 299.9. Had a $100 gift card from my favorite neighbor that I hadn't used, so the whole shebang only cost me six bucks.
The ranch has fuel again.
