Golf balls..... living on a golf course I have sacks of them. I can go and collect a dozen and not walk more than 100 yards from the house...want some....come and get em!

When you're an assistant sexton, you get a lot of down time in between digging, waiting for the vault truck, and cover up. Had lots of time to read the stones. Most all were where the old man died and the wife caught up 30-40 years later. If it was the wife that went first, the man joined her within 4 years.
They can live without us. We can't live without them.

Another epiphany I spotted; The stone reads John Doe, 1920-1986. That little "-" was the man's entire life. Kinda reminds me that our lives are very short in the infinite scheme of things.
