Help with glass of water tek

I have been using the paper towel method for a while now and decided to try the sitting in water tek... I put water in a little tupperware thing and put about 15 seeds in it and sealed it. I then put it in a drawer but they didn't do anything... The water just smells really bad now... It has been about 2-3 days and this morning none had sprouted.... Do i need to not seal them?

i don't seal mine and i change the water every day. once the shell cracks just a little where i can see white i place in a peat pellet just bearly covering the seed. you don't have to wait, some people soak over night then put in soil. if the water smells it can't be good for your seeds.

the best way and the easiest i feel is to do the paper towl way but place outside if you able to and let the sun do all the work for you, and as soon as you see a sprout you do need to put in a pete mixture it works well
