ive been putting cal-mag in for 10 days, how much more can i put in without hurting plants, i mix one gallon water with 5 ml cal-mag and feed 10 plants equal amounts, thats 10 ozs each every other day . directions say only use once a week, afraid to kill plants if i use more

(he has severe glaucoma) im 77 yrs old , retired, and spend a lot of time reading about growing, but getting frustrated by the fact that all this is guessing game, guess wrong and you lose months of hard work. im trying not to lose any plants, not worried about cost, just 4 months of a lot of work. ive been debating whether or not to buy a calicum meter ($400) to measure soil content, because if i add too much calicum ill be royally screwed, just moneys getting a little thin right now LOL, ANYWAY thanks for answering me. have a great day and try not to get haf, ROTFL
Hi, im using vivosun nutrients a 401 b 142 mixed at 10 ml per gallon of water, adjusted ph to 6.0,, 6 ozs for each plant (i have 10 ) every 4 to 5 days, past ten days ive been adding cal-mag mixed at 5 ml per gallon, and feeding every other day, 5 ozs to each plant. im using fox farm happy frog soil mixed with some coco for drainage. ( which i found out too late i shouldnt have mixed them ) i water every 4 to 5 days (when the moisture content drops to 10 to 12 %) after i water moisture content goes to 18 to 22 % and slowly drops to 10 to 12 %. i check every day for moisture and ec levels. i used reverse osmosis water adjusted to around 6.0 ph. tent temps average 78 to 80 degrees during the day with leaf temps averaging 72 to 74 degrees measured with infared temp meter, tent temps at night (lights off) average 72 degrees, daytime humidity and night time humidity average 44 to 47 %. i have a dehumidifier running 24 hrs a day and an air conditioner running during the day to keep tent temps down as the led lights generate a lot of heat. i run my lights at 60 % with the ppfd around 600 . from everything ive read i should be around 800 to a 1000 for flowering but im afraid they might get light burn. if i missed something just ask please. thanks for any help you may offer. george
I'm with Weedy on that one. That ph is low for soil. Lock out can occur.
Hi, i used to work at a hospital in charge of maintenance and i had to do extensive research before i did anything with critical systems involving patients. ( didnt want to kill any) i researched growing for 3 months before i bought anything. needless to say, i took fox farms at their word about their soil being ready to use out of the bag. wrong, their stuff (i just bought 2 more bags of happy frog) tested at 5.0 ph. anyway the soil in my plants is way too low and i tried to correct it a couple of months ago, now what i have is the top 5, 6 inches at 7.0 ph and the bottom 6 inches at under 5.7, everytime i added stuff to raise ph ( used one plant to experiment) the top half went off the scale at 8.5 ph and didnt raise the bottom half so i stopped. too late now to transplant into other containers. you can bet i wont make that mistake again. taking fox farms at their word, (ready to use right out of the bag) so i guess ill just have to hope that i get some kind of buds to harvest in 5 or 6 weeks. ive been keeping a journal since i started so i wont make the same mistakes thanks for the info george
