Hi ya'all, love the site, been lurking for years. But now I have a problem. I'm running a 30 gal tub with 20 gal of water. I have had really good crops, 8 plants at a time. It's continuous stream of nutes no mold, no algae, nice white roots every time. Useing AN nutes, flouro lights, Milwalkie meter, every thing fine, very happy camper. THEN the other night as I went to switch the water out to so I can switch to bloom nutes I see something crawling in the tank. It is a larvae of something and I freaked out. There weren't many maybe fifty but they were in the roots too. I pulled the plant cups out and took them to the shower where I started to shower them and remove every one with a magnifier where needed. I also discovered that they hated warm water and it didn't take very warm water to kill them, so I did. I cleaned everything really good and put it back together, and the plants seem to be doing ok today, I was worried about shock. I did find some flies, they look like very tiny house flies as opposed to a fruit fly, grey in color. I really tried to find a thread but none seemed to be the same as my problem, or I'm just missing something.

I need to know
1. anybody seen this before
2. how can I save my mother I haven't cleaned that tank yet (next)
3. is it fatal to the plants
4. is there something I can use to combat this
5. is this a job for neem oil?
6. could this be a product of a fruit fly problem I had weeks ago.
7. could this effect the final product

Its been 48 hrs since I pulled and cleaned the plants and they are doing fine it appears. Nothing has showed up it the tank of non nute water yet and if that is the case tomorrow, I will clean all the hardware one more time and switch the nutes.

I have learned a lot lurking here for the last couple years and would like to say thanks for the help I received already.

thanks bt
