Its all about the distance.
Jerry would kill a mother fker in a heartbeat and shoot you so many times its ridiculous,, but he got beat at that short distance. That guy isn't going to try and cut you so using your arms won't matter. He is throwing the knife, and he can throw several in a short time. I've seen it. Again its always about the distance when it comes to guns and knives. Never get that close to a guy with a knife if he is as good as that guy was because he isn't advancing toward you.

It's about 42" overall. The foot-long handle makes it easy to swing and control.

I have not had any military training, nor am I one of those guys that spends a lot of time in the back yard wasting ammo, but I do have a lifetime of hunting and handling firearms behind me.
I can get a gun in action plenty fast enough, but more importantly, I am very aware of my surroundings at all times.
My eyes are highly trained to pick up on the smallest of movements, and see things most people don’t notice.
My senses go into overdrive anytime I am in any kind of crowd.
I can turn it off if I am with a small group of close friends in a safe location, but if I am in the city, that $hit kicks into overdrive, and causes my anxiety to go through the roof.
My wife wanted us to take a trip to Mexico with a group of friends.
I told her I would cause myself to have a stroke before I ever made it back home.

Well I am not gonna shoot or pull a knife on anyone today. But I am getting a bid on siding on the back of the house. Front and sides are fine but the back gets no sun in the winter and limited in the summer. Getting soft in spots.

Also pretty much decided on a company to handle funeral proceedings for when Me and Mrs Pute pass. Got 3 bids and decided on All Veterans Funeral and Cremation. Half the price of the other two. You have to be a veteran to qualify. Basically half the price of the other two. Not planning on dying any time soon just don't want to leave a bunch of decisions for my Daughter to deal with.

If you don't do this when the time comes the funeral homes become predators. A loved one is left to make the decisions at a very bad time and the Funeral homes know this. Funerals today can cost over $20,000!. It will now be taken care of for her. All it takes is one phone call and everything is done.

What happened to the good o'l days where they just dig a hole and plop you in.

I was taught to offer up my non shooting arm up as blocker if a knife attacker is going to reach you before getting a shot off. Arm up in front of face and chest in block mode. The knife hits the arm and can cut clean to bone, at same time falling back and shoot the snot out of the knife fighter. Like a boxer would use their weak arm during a fight.

Trouble is, by putting up your "weak" arm, you're offering up your armpit. A guy that's good with a knife is gonna stick ya knowing you'll leak out quickly. Major artery in your pits/groin.

but so is adrenaline

one knife in the gut or chest may kill , but , the soon to be dead perp may get off 3-4 shots because he ain’t down yet

so the knife guy may be faster but what are the odds one knife will take someone down?

that is why the .45 is used , knock down power , adrenaline stopper

to me it is called what do I do if there is an home invasion or I am pumping gas and a tweeker tries to knock me out and steal my wallet or I am at the bank and Bonnie and Clyde walk in…..

I used to have ties to the Denver Mafia. One of the Smaldones was a fiend of mine. $400 for a broken arm or leg and it went from there. Gaetano's Italian restaurant was one of my favorites restaurants Owned by Checker Smaldone. Sal Capra was in charge of the gambling operation and I was in Vegas with him on more than one occasion....... I never knew Checker but I knew his grandson well.
