Beautiful. I am way to clumsy to be swinging one of those. Probably cut my other arm off!
How long is that sword? Looks gigantic.

Bubba
It's about 42" overall. The foot-long handle makes it easy to swing and control.

The comparison where a sabre with a similar length blade must be controlled with the fingers of just one hand and wrist, while the the katana allows two hands, wrists, and forearms to control where the blade goes -- shows the strength of the weapon design.

I carry a Swiss Army knife forever I guess now. the nail file and roach clip/tweezers have bailed me out numerous times, used it for fishing opening up bottles and cans and spread peanut butter too. It’s banged up pretty good but still works like a charm.
That is the type of knife I used to kill rattlesnakes.

I carry a 13 dollar gerber in my front left pocket, have for decades...they're getting hard to find...excellent blade on a cheap knife...thin scales

I carry this mini ka bar. Very sharp. Hacks through leather costs, whatever. Conceals right in waist band
Here's an "aww" moment for ya, Subbie. Meet Elvis, sole survivor of his brood. His mom and three siblings got murdered by a coon I think. Couldn't leave him outside after living through that nightmare. The Pullet was supposed to find a home for him, but he sleeps on her head every night and I just couldn't bring myself to make her give him away. What's one more cat, anyhoo?

with times a-changing I traded my 3 inch old timer in for a 13 inch machete .. life is good ..
I've got to have mine sharpened. Bought mine in El Salvadore. Brought it and 5 others back in carry on bag. Nice machete, Has nice script "El Salvadore" embossed on the side. About as sharp as a 2x4.

You da man Walt but I would have ever done that unless for a pic if the snake were dead…🤪
My Beautiful Witch has forbidden me to do it. On my penultimate time of doing it, my hand was moving in when the buzzer went to strike. His bottom fang made a long scrape over the back of my hand. 😧

New guys at the hunt club thought, nay, claimed the others were pulling the long bow. Herself gave me dispensation to do it once more for a video so I wouldn't do it anymore.

Yes and no. Lemme search for the pic... HAH! Found it! I wuz carrying a sack of corn back to my feeder when the bastage struck and stuck in my dungarees.

I hadda drop the corn, grab snake behind the head to pull it off -- and smack it against a tree. It was shedding, and buzzers get testy when their skin in partly off.

If you lookit your fist and compare it to the fang marks being wider apart than that quarter... His head was about the size of your fist. EEK. EEK.

I made up a montage (this was 2004) because my game camera tooken my pic at the feeder. The guys called me "Snakebait". Nobody would go in the jungle with me:

I've got an old WWI Kraut saber. Must have been carried horseback 'cause it's a heavy bugger. The guy that sold it to me said he nicknamed it, "Old wrist breaker" 'cause if'n ya tried to do anything fancy with it.......
