Ok so this grow is going to be so many firsts for me. My first scrog grow. My first seed to harvest photoperiod plant. My first time growing cereal milk. It ought to be fun. My seed is currently in a moist paper towel after spending 24 hours soaking in a shot glass of water. This is going to be an earthbox grow. In a 36x20x 63 grow tent, inside a closet.

Tent is a 20x36x63 vivosun tent. Light is a Viparspectra P2000. AC Infinity clip fan, humidifier and heater. Container will be an earthbox. Medium will be roughly a 50/50 mix of ocean forest and coco loco. I will add in a little down to earth all purpose, & gypsum. I will be using recharge during the veg stages and a bloom booster microb product later.

The cross member the light is hanging on will slide through the light's metal hangers to get it as high as possible. The last time I grew in my 2x2x63" tent, I really needed that extra space.
I'm hoping with a scrog, I shouldn't need that, but that's good to know for other grows in the future.

Sorry this grow is taking a while to get going. My seedling is currently in one of my autoflower tents in a 5 or 6 inch pot. I have the heater, humidifier, inline fan, carbon filter, everything for this grow. I can say that so far I am really liking the coco loco from fox farms and I think I will be mixing this with my peat based soil to add some oxygen holding capability. I also like that it doesn't get as hydrophobic as peat. So if you let it dry out, it soaks up water easier. I think this will be good. Peat seems to be better at holding soil biology and microbes. So I'm hoping to get the best of both worlds by mixing this. I will be working on setting up my tent and ventilation for this scrog grow. And the seedling is starting to take off nicely, so I would guess in the next couple of weeks, this closet scrog grow will be getting underway.

I also have the earthbox in the tent already. It's mostly filled. I have not decided if I am going to use the plastic mulch cover, or if I'm going to just run a mulch layer of coco chips on top of it... I know that plastic mulch cover isn't pretty, but it does its job really well.

Ya had me at Scrog. 🍿
I built my scrog frame today. It might be a little high off the earthbox for some, but being my first scrog, I felt that this would give me enough room to work under the scrog comfortably. I measured and leveled the light. There is almost exactly a 4.5 inch gap between the light and the front and back of the tent... and 6 inches exactly between the edges of the light and the sides of the tent. And as you can see, I still have room to move the light up. There is currently about 18 inches between the light and top of the scrog. I think i might swap this ac infinity fan for the 2 small green vivosun lights in my 2x4 tent. They are smaller and fit tighter to the tent walls as you can see in the last pic.

Framed scrogs are great if you don't need mobility. Yeah, 18" is pretty high for the screen. Ya only really need 8-10" below. That's plenty of room for ventilation and easy to access if needed.
Mounting it high will cause you to veg longer before you flip to flower. 18" is a lot of growth just to hit the screen.

In that small space it won't take long to fill up.

It is 18" from the top of the screen to the light. From the top of the earthbox to the top of the screen is 13". I know i should have gone a little lower but like I said, it's my first scrog and I wanted to have room to work under the screen. I'm not sure if I should plant in the middle of the earthbox and go out from the middle of the screen, or if i should start at 1 side and just tuck everything from 1 side of the screen to the other.
