This is my second post and I am new to hydroponics. The system consists of a 4x8 foot tray with 15 three gal aro-pots (holes for air cover outside of pot). I have a 30 gallon resivor with a 400 gph pump going from 3/4 inch hose to 1/4 inch drip line. It is a top feed system. I am using 50% perelite and 50% coconot. My clones have been in the meadium for about 7 days now and the leaves are turning yellow. My ph is consistantly between 5.5 and 5.9. I am using a 3 part nutrient called sweet and heavy. I started out using 2 600 watt lights thinking they were the hortilux eye, which i heard was ok for both veg and flowering, but it turns out they are not. I do have a 1000 watt meatal halide, but im afraid that it might be too intense for these clones that are about four inches tall but well rooted? So as of right now they are under 4 foot gro lux floresents. Any advice is much appreciated.

are you following the directions of the nutes you got? who makes "sweet and heavy" ?

looks to me like the original clone leaf is falling off. It happens, just keep an eye on that new grown green at the node. If the new leaves turn yellow, you have a problem. How sure are you that you PH tester is correct?

Ya my ph tester is very new and i just had it calibrated at a grow shop. The makers of sweet and heavy i believe is Hydro-organic and i know its made in chico ca. I have tried to find reviews on it but have been unsuccessfful. It looks like my new growth is green and looks healthy. I guess im just conserned about my lighting. How soon typically until you and able to give them intense light??
Thanks
KRIS

once they root fully you can give them all the light you want, as long as temps are cool enough

Awesome thanks alot for your input. With the medium i chose(coconot and perilite). Im afraid of root rot, im watering once a day when my lights kick on, but it never really dries out. its always moist. Is that ok with hydro??

Thanks

Im not sure about that sytem..but It sounds more like a hempy bucket..or a massbucket here on MP...I run one and the PH is as like soil not Hydro...IMO bring that PH up to 6.5 and watch out...Those "air pots" ya have are real nice...whats the drip ya say? does it recirculate??? or run off? sorry for the questions just trying to understand your medium a bit better..:48:

also what Nutes are ya using..cocco and perlite Have none...Maybe some is needed..???

Ya from my resivor, water is pumped to little sprinkler heads which saturate the meadium. It drains down my table and back into the resivor. My water temp is 65 and i have two airstones keeping my nutes mixed and water airarated. The nutes are called sweet and heavy, its a 3 part mix That is molassas based, i was told that is hydro organic
