I'm sure no one is laughing at that joke!

Well tc, like the saying goes :"nothings over until the fat lady sings" or something like that. We may come out of this just fine. We're getting some heat and sun now so I have my fingers crossed. So far I have 10 males and 6 females, just barely showing. Moved those up (Females) to 10 gal. pots and saving 3 different males for pollinating. Moved those to a land far far away.

Have fingers crossed for yours also, they look so pretty in their pots in your pictures. Yours must be a couple of weeks older than mine. And so sorry for the crappy weather your way also. Guess when we grow outside we have a lot of things to watch for and battle against. Put out new grasshopper bait and this a.m. I found an aphid. If there's one there's more. The little bast@rds and the ants who corral them.

When I used to garden regular vedgies, I would always plant something (usually cabbage) near the closest ant hill. The aphids and ants would take up residence and leave the rest of my garden alone ( I was an organic gardener back then, trying now too). Now I get out the diamatimus earth and spread it on those lil ant holes. I did plant some bok choy last year that saw some ants farming aphids, but they got the d earth stuff and became history.
Thanks for lookin' in on my girls. The Afgoo is still in the dog house. I did see some single leaves comming out of the tops of those flowers, maybe revedging is on it's way. I shore hope so.

Forgot to congratulate you on those girls. Keepin the males far far away, sounds good to me too.....

Hey Tc

Boy, I have been away for awhile. Visiting daughter and family in So. Oregon. Spent time in N. Ca in the redwoods and smith river and then up to Gold Beach on the Rogue river. Never thought I'd see the redwoods or the beach again. Swore last time I went home to san diego that I would NEVER come back. So ugly, crowded and smoggy. But N. Calif. is still beautiful as ever. Enjoyed being in the morning fog again.

Sweetie stayed home and took care of home, animals and plants. And welcomed me home with hot bubble bath all drawn and candles. Must be why we're still together after 41 or 2 years.

Having a little trouble with plants. Now 12 weeks old, 51 inches tall and just starting to flower. Preflowered way too early because of cool and cloudy all of June. Lower fan leaves turning yellow (just like aging) and moving up plant. Even some smaller leaves turning. Only thing I could figure is mang deficientcy, so dosed them with 1 tea. bat guano per gallon. We'll see how they react in 4 or 5 days. Last N fert they had was 5 weeks ago and last bloom fert was one week ago. My river water is getting high ph. sometimes up to 8. Tried using vinegar to adjust but it didn't last long. But so far, very pleased. Going to get rid of pots next year and plant in ground. What a difference in size.

Will post a couple of pics later. chores

waitin' on pics....get on those chores!
Glad you had a good trip.
