ahhh.. now, we need the rain ;)..(besides I prefer it to those century mark temp's of earlier in the week) by July, we'll be burnin' up!

I love this state as well, nice name! =)

Tested my house water ph this a.m. after reading a post, 7.2 Hadn't thought of that and should have. Water here smell horrible and tastes the same. Have to buy bottled water to drink and cook with . Nice to know it's o.k. for the plants.

I use Distilled Water only because I am too lazy to play with PH levels etc. I have yet to use a tester kit.

THe distilled I tested had a PH of 4.9. Not good for soil or Hydro without PHing 1st. Then again Im sure Different Distilling Companies, can have Diff PH.

Just stoppin' in to give some encouragement.
So here is some of what the "they's" say here.....
Green Mojo heading your way from California!

Just went and read page one, yep, those CFL's should be as close to those potential girls as they can stand. Put a fan behind them to cool the air, on low, will make the stalks hardy. Just fan them so they look like they (leaves) are gently waving to you. Keeping your temps down and your lights close is the thing to do, but those girls may be in the sun now, from remembering this page. Maybe I shouldnt have posted before I read the whole thing........or smoked a bowel, or.....?

Thanks for the advice. Moved the light down closer and already had a fan on low. Try to get them outside whenever I see the sun poking through all these clouds. So far today I've carried them in and out twice.

Here's a pic of a 2 week old plant. Not as tall as my last grow but I am pleased. They are in 5" pots in a mix of Happy Frog and pro-mix and seem happy. Not much to add to this journal at this start of the grow. Just watch my temps and water and keep trying to kill the little grasshopper basta*##s. outside, before the plants go outside permanently. Spent $21 on Nolo bait and didn't seem to faze em and there must be a million of the baby buggers. Figured out they are laying their eggs in my garden in the fall.

Looking good.
Im gonna have to move to Colorado and horn in on you and Hick.:D Im gonna smoke all of Hicks stuff 1st.:hubba:

Yes Cowboy, please stop at Hicks first. I'm stingy. And after getting up to "Thrips" this a.m. I am mighty touchy!!!!!

Also some fert burned leaf tips, I know, too early but.....using pro-mix soil without any fert added. Looked at plants of friend germed same day, same seeds in mir. grow and they were much larger than mine. Almost came home and cried. Gave mine a few tbsps. of 1/4 strength "age old grow"-12-6-6) Don't think I hurt them too bad. Could also be our water. ph tests perfect but so stinky with heavy metals think I'll go to bottled water that we drink and cook with.

The Soil you have your babies in should have enough nutes in it naturally for 4 weeks (pro mix is good soil). Then give the babies some nutes. I used "Age Old Bloom" last year with good results during flower. My winter girls got that too. I liked that real well, it being organic and all, Im gonna try to stay all organic this year (miracle grow is not organic at all). Your friend will prolly start experienceing some heavy nute burn when the time release pellets start letting off their nutes. Your girls are fine, look real healthy....Im wishing mine looked as good as Mojave's, so I know what you mean. I have well water, heavy with iron and calcium, freaked over that but it tests perfect for the ph now, but need to retest later in the season due to water level in the well changing, learned that from Hick last year.

Your Girls LOOK Great!
Im not possitive but a company called Sevins makes some dust stuff that can maybe help with the hopper's. I am pretty sure it is organic too.

Happy long weekend all
Thanks for the input tcbud. We are on a well also, never thought of the water level changing. And the water is especially bad this time of the year. We live just below a large irrigation canal and the rivers are at their highest, so the ground water rises also. Sweetie and I had to put in a 100 foot "french ditch" just to keep seepage away from footing. Seems like it's extreems with water, too little or too much. Heard we are on an andoluvian flow. Know the spelling is wrong on that one.

Well, hear the rain, so better go bring the plants in....

I drool over MojaveMamas plants also. Guess she's just blessed for all the hard work she puts into them.

Colorado, lets go look at the bud pic of the month contest....droll over those buds.....(insert smile). About the end of August we can start putting up buds for the contest.

I'll join you in looking but going to have to be some kind of bud to beat your purple beauty of last fall. Have my little ladies and gentlemen doing push-ups as we speak. Oohhhhh smell the turkey.....gotta go

This is my 1st Medical grow. Old enough to be blown away that this is Legal for me now. Started White Russion and Chemo last week, all cooked on defective seed germinating mat. Dang!!!!!! 1st time I've paid for seeds and killed them. Started over with last years seed on a 30 year old heating mat on low and all is going well. Most are in peat pellets ( I hear so many people downing them, but tried rockwool and didn't like it). So some coming up in the dark and 15 transplanted into 5 inch pots under my light and plastic. Will be going outside in the next day or so. Probably babying them a little, can throw seed over the deck railing and shazam they come right up in the middle of my strawberries.

What a girl, eh? THG is from CO, too, right? But it's news to me that Hick hoes there, too :). The stuff you learn in this place!

THG lives in Colorado? News to me, but then there's alot of nice people here

Had a nice cool cloudy day so moved my 4 week old plants up to 2 gallon pots. They will stay in these until they are sexed in 2 to 3 weeks. Used the same soil mixture of Pro-mix and happy frog that I started with and really like it. The plants are healthy and happy. Growing 4th or 5th set of serrated leaf and now small leaf growth coming at stem. Average height 4 1/4 inches.

As soon as they are over the shock of transplanting I will give them a dose of neuts. Right now I'm hoping for one or two more cloudy days to ley them rest after transplant, then "Come on Sun"!! Should have a nice growth spurt then.

Well, another week of cloudy skies and some rain. All plants are outside, doing pretty well considering the weather. I cover them if the rain gets heavy.

Gave a dose of "Age old grow" and guano tea. 3/4 Tablespoon age old and 1/2 tea. guano to a gallon of water. Let it steep for 18 hours. Here's a pic of all plants and one of a plant that all we knew about the seeds is they were from Hawaii. It was taller from the gitgo and very fat leaves. Must be very Indica dominate. Have never had a plant that looked like this one. Any ideas?

And here we have another cloudy day, not so good for the plants, but nice and cool. The ph is too high in my water and soil...7.2 average. I had been using bottled water as our well water is stinky. Bought some water testing strips and found our bottled water has a ph of 8.0 and well ph 7.3. so now need to lower it. Tried a few drops of white vinegar in a glass of well water and brought it right down to 6.7. Does anyone know if the vinegar is a good idea?

Plants are beautiful, lush and green. Stems are thickening up and putting out 6th and 7th set of leaves and new leaf at stem crotches (sure there's a word for this area- just don't know it)

I had planned on them starting to show sex soon, from my notes males at about 5 1/2 weeks and females at around 6 1/2 weeks. But that was from an indoor winter grow and just found out from an old thread that outdoor plants are later. Around August in our area. Thanks again to Hick. You are a smart man and big help to all of us here.

My 6 1/2 week old plants starting pre flowering 3 or 4 days ago and today I have my first silky haired lady. I am thrilled, now would like a bunch more. Fertilized this evening. Had a little fert burn on some of the plants last feeding 1 1/2 weeks ago. Two watering since then, so cut my dose down a little . 2 tea. Age Old grow, 1/2 tea guano and 1 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar to adjust ph. Ph after feeding is 6.8 to 6.9.

Now to keep a good eye out for those pesky males.

I am having the same preflower problem. I was expecting everything to go smooth with no revedging here. I expected wrong once again. I have four ladies that have been effected by that bad weather with the dark days due to clouds I guess. I now know I am the same as you, first part of August for flowers. Last year I picked off the preflowers on a couple clones and didnt care for the way they took so long to revedge and quit growing up too. So this year, no pickin' off the flowers, let nature take it's course and let them revedge on their own.

Your girls are sure looking good there all in a row. You got what looks like a real nice garden going there too.

o.k. What now? If the sun ever decides to shine for more than a couple hours will my females go back to vegeing? There are only 2 pairs of hairs per plant on 5 plants. Just starting to show. And my plants are only 12 to 15 inches high- 6 1/2 weeks old.

Guess I'm not the only one around here scratching their head at what's going on. Guess it's like tcbud said, can only let Mother Nature take her course.

Yep Mother Nature and Saying Mother, oops cant be potty mouth here. You come by and see more than a few hairs on mine ( all the afgoo ). I mean dang, I called it Goldilocks grow cause I thot third time is the charm. Jokes on me.
