It's just cool to see someone think outside the box. Not many would consider doing this but your making it happen.

A cool video of it in action would be great once ya get setup.
Well it would be a first. I don’t recall anyone with a tent of less that 10 feet using anything like this and nothing in the last 5 years since LED arrays are affordable. But my theory says for the standard home grower that monthly utility bill matters. Bigger light equals more heat. More heat requires solutions both inside the tent and in the room outside the tent if not the entire house. If you are generating massive amounts of heat and then using your central AC to compensate you are paying more.

This doesn’t generate additional heat, I need the additional moisture during winter and I stay in my $25 a month window.

I am just looking at ways to steady the light when it comes to a stop now. I can’t do much about that as I need the real light to make that happen and am still using it.

A cool tube (remember those?) works great along with a small duct fan to dissipate the added heat.

I was going to try a light rail for my 600 watt MH/HPS but opted for a second light. I got a little nuts with the lighting last grow. Along with the two 600W lights, I put two double bulb T10 fluorescent fixtures with grolux tubes on either side to come on a half hour before the mains and go off a half hour later. Dawn and dusk, don't ya know. :)

That's what makes this special. Nobody does this at this scale of a grow. You may have tapped into something cool and efficient for led grows.
I remember when we installed systems that automatically insert the correct amount of plastic color chips at the correct time during jacketing. It was a huge deal and extremely profitable for the company.

But was it better for color?

No the method of premixing using a concrete blender provided more even color.

This is how I look at everything. To me every “only” solution also has an out of the box solution nobody looked for

I looked up the specs for my light and it says 18 inch sides and it’s square so I should have just under 25 inches from corner to corner. If I can turn the light and make the corner flow into the corner of the tent I won’t be directly over two areas. I am thinking during flowering I could drop down to take advantage of higher par since it won’t stay directly over any two spots. It seems logical

They are milky.. awesome, not long to go

I'd take advantage of getting that lower power as low as ya can. I think it'll do a great job.

This would be a nice setup in a 4x8. A single 1000w led on a rail. Man that makes me think. Moving parts kinda freaks me out but the idea of total coverage with one lamp is pretty enticing and could save a lot of energy costs.

Can't wait to see this rig in action.

Strange thing is the trichomes are milky but the leaves should be dying back and they are all going as strong as ever. Healthiest plants I have ever had.

I really believe I have this down now. I believe with minor effort I can replicate this every time.

Also means the light mover will be my last experiment for growing cannabis since I will have accomplished my goals.

I think I might try some 3D printing next

I'd love to have one of those 3d printers.

Some strains don't fade much. My cjc91s were pretty green at harvest others not so much.

They sell wax sticks for lubricating zippers….i found it helpful with an old tent that was giving me trouble

Bow string wax works as well. I didn't want to buy a second wax stick for just my tent zipper so I dug through my compound bow accessories and found my bow string wax.
Just a thought for anyone who already has some and doesn't want to buy more wax.

And something more people may have access to.... skateboard wax. Haven't tried it myself. But I know a couple guys who have used it and said it works.
So if you got some of that give it a try.

Good info...I wonder if my beard wax would work. It's not that the zips are bad. I'd just like to do a little preventive maintenance. Keep them in working order.

When I used to run the General Organics nute line, most of my plants maintained healthy appearance into harvest. The ones that had yellowing or any signs of deficiency were caused by me trying to force most of the tent to go purple. 10 years ago purple was all the streets wanted. 🤣
If you are hands on and your methods work, you can get them to stay green till the end.
Everything I've seen looks amazing. Keep it up.

If it's thick enough it should. Hair and Beard waxs can get sticky so don't over-do it.
Tattoo wax balm sticks are another option people might have around the house. More slip than stick. Again untested personally but it's a great out of the box idea.

Bowstring wax is a good idea.
This is what I carry.

More upper strength than me. I am lightweight and require a compound bow
Mine is only 42 lb pull, lol.

Cheap compound bought a few years ago for like $300. Put a other $200 into accessories and tools. Dry fired the day i got it and had to restring it. 🤣
Currently set to 60lbs. With a TruFire caliper release.
