I frequently hear of people that look at my old cars in amazement and pine, They don’t make them like they used to. I agree with them and tell them that if they did, nobody would be driving as much as they did because the cars required more maintenance on a regular basis. I have 44,000 miles on my super duty and I have not popped the hood. As usual, the idiot that gave me the water pump gave me one that does not fit my application. I am fortunate that I did not paint it when I pulled it out of a box.True story. I have noticed however, that while cars in the 60's were easier to work on, we had to more often, so some trade there.
Respect to all who take the time and money necessary to do it right. There are two car shows a year that feature cars from the 50's and 60''s in the park near me. My own personal fav is a 55 chev followed closely by a 67 nova (Chevy II).I frequently hear of people that look at my old cars in amazement and pine, They don’t make them like they used to. you'd be surprised...I can buy and build a '69 Camaro from the internet using all new parts but good luck finding a bumper for my '61 brookwood rear...stuff is out there but wowza is it costly...I can't imagine chasing parts for them!
Ya sold your carWe had our biannual county rod show last weekend ... a local that had been trying to sell his yellow '71 GTO for a few years sold it for a lot more than the $27K he had asked for...... inflation yaknow
it helps when you have a motivated buyer...some people will pay stupid money to fulfill a childhood dream they once had...We had our biannual county rod show last weekend ... a local that had been trying to sell his yellow '71 GTO for a few years sold it for a lot more than the $27K he had asked for...... inflation yaknow
