True story. I have noticed however, that while cars in the 60's were easier to work on, we had to more often, so some trade there.
I frequently hear of people that look at my old cars in amazement and pine, They don’t make them like they used to. I agree with them and tell them that if they did, nobody would be driving as much as they did because the cars required more maintenance on a regular basis. I have 44,000 miles on my super duty and I have not popped the hood. As usual, the idiot that gave me the water pump gave me one that does not fit my application. I am fortunate that I did not paint it when I pulled it out of a box.

Respect to all who take the time and money necessary to do it right. There are two car shows a year that feature cars from the 50's and 60''s in the park near me. My own personal fav is a 55 chev followed closely by a 67 nova (Chevy II).

I think I’ve seen every car under the sun, but it’s the characters driving them that now intrigue me as you said… the trend of resto modding is hot but people sure do lose a lot of money. When they put a quarter of $1 million in the car they can’t get 100,000 for in return… I prefer to keep them very original if possible

We had our biannual county rod show last weekend ... a local that had been trying to sell his yellow '71 GTO for a few years sold it for a lot more than the $27K he had asked for...... inflation yaknow
it helps when you have a motivated buyer...some people will pay stupid money to fulfill a childhood dream they once had...
