Growing Problems past the seedling stage

Where are the pictures? 🤔 I have so much to learn and show and tell works best for me. The nets arrived today and the other parts should be here Sunday. Looking forward to building the Scrog. Can I have please have some closeups of how I use it? My plant explosion is touching the walls on all 4 sides.
I just think this plant is so pretty. It's one of the two seedlings that I finally didn't murder and they grew. My notes start from last April and if I had of sought advice I could have done better. At least I am starting feel a little more accomplished now that I am getting some growth. My vegie garden was always happy and produced lots - tomatos, lemon cucumbers, peppers etc... And then I tried this project and everything is so different. Upside-down.

this was my last and also first grow. I used two nets one when they started to grow uneven then another just before putting them into flower. It’s easy to maintain a nice canopy and fill in every square inch with tops using a net. As much as I don’t like the fact that I have to work on the floor in a tiny space just big enough to sit down sideways i do think this is the best way if your growing in a small tent.
the picture below is my current grow, the clones from the first grow. A couple of them I will gift to another grower making room for 4 plants in my 2x4x7’ tent. They are just in young veg status now and will take a few more weeks to fill in the tent. I tied these girls down to their pots and put cane poles on one yesterday which opened them up to the light nicely but already see where their growth will become unmanageable if I don’t throw a net over them. I don’t like them totally covering the sides of the tent and feel in my situation could cause moisture problems. A few leaves touching the side I don’t mind as long as they can get air all around them. I do believe you can use multiple lst methods to get your desired look and your plants will help you decide that. Just tuck those long limbs under the net and the next day your bud sites will start turning up to the lights. Good luck with your grow Julie. Post it now and then when you can so we can all see and learn from how you did. Come here too for help. There are a lot of smart growers here to learn from 😎

Wow...so beautiful. So all these little green new growth clumps are pre flowers? And then when do we do the light change for actual flowers? Sorry I'm so lame.

Please don’t say you’re lame and I’m a newbie too so others here know more than me and you maybe shouldn’t take everything I say for gospel.😎 I wait til that net is completely full but others don’t always I’m sue. The biggest thing you have to worry about is how much height you have as your plants will still continue grow quite a bit after you put them in flower. You don’t want those beautiful buds getting tore up by the lights or out grow your area. Depending on what you are growing too will tell you about how tall they get. So account for that when planning on when to put them to 12/12

We can do this. 👍 we will get in put I'm sure....My tent is 63" tall, I tried to maximize for height because my foot print is small I've been niping off big leaves as they start blocking light to lower branches below. Ummm. does switching to flowering happen as soon as I am sure who has the right gender? I've read in one of my books or on the forum the light schedule is 12/12 or 24 or something???? And is this light schedule on-going or once they flower do I do something different? And if my tent is not light sealed I could mess up the change over? More pictures this weekend. The new lens on the phone is going to make all the difference of what I can see.🌱🙃

I veg at 18 on 6 off then go to 12/12 when I put them in flower. I think I wait a bit longer than necessary to turn them to flower as I wait till my screen is about 100% full and not tall enough to grow another couple of feet During flower which they will…. I’ve seen folks go to flower on babies before so I’m just a drop in the ocean.

Hello guys. Is this a single thread? It looks like a neverending thread where everybody is supposed to write so ill just try here. Forgive me if i jump the introducing part for now. Very often you end up with only 1 or 2 posts anyway. For the case im here frequently i will do that later.

I have a question about my plants, I have one plant that just deceided it would be a good idea to stop growing or at least keep it to a minimum. Interestingly its got all the "features" of the other plants, the preflowers, quiete dense growth with lots of leaves, just everything is smaller, its got mabye 30-40% of the plantmass that the other 2 have. Its also a little brighter in colour and the surface of the leaves looks..a bit like fur? When you feel over the leaves you will see its not as smooth as the other ones, theres more "friction"

Now a few infos about the plants, its my first grow, i kept reading about the topic here and there for a couple of years and in January i finally got some time. These are Amnesia fem seeds. In the beginning i had a little bit of slow growth/ stop for a couple of days until i found the perfect watering routine. i was also very careful with fertilizing, probably a little bit to careful, after 4 weeks 1 plant, the largest, developed some brown corrosion-looking spots on the older leaves which i think it was Magnesium or Phosphor def. I started fertilizing more frequently and added some calMag and the def. stopped from moving to the next leaves, thankfully. Im using some "bio" soil with ph 6,3 thats contains alittle bit of everything and is slightly prefertilized. I added about 10% clay-granulat. The fertilizer is mineral allround-fertilzer with a pretty even distribution of NPK, 7-5-6. It also contains the usual minerals. And im also adding calmag from now on. Light is a 130 watt LED Panel for a 1x3 foot space, but only at 75% right now. Watering always at about ph 6, sometimes a bit more, sometimes less. But always in decent range.

After about 4 weeks growth really started exploding which gives me another indication that ive been a little to shy with fertilizing. And it shows me that the problems with the tiny plant probably dont have anything to do with nutrients, because it doesnt care if i fertilize more or less, it just has a tendency to stay tiny. All 3 plants are have same conditions so there cant be anything totally messed up. Temps, humidity, light, lightcycle everything is like its supposed to be. Right now im thinking maybe its just a genetic trade?

im adding a few pics and you can see how it developed. They came to the light of day on january 27, so theyre almost 6 weeks old now. 1 plant is in a 1,5 gallon pot and the 2 other plants share a 4 gallon pot, thats the one where Mini is living in. Ive started to water his half of the pot only with 50%, because it doesnt suck water out of the soil nearly as fast as his neighbour. Anybody maybe has an idea whats going on or ever experienced the same?

This is a good place to start. I have stunted plants that have recovered. I had watering issues that I have resolved by just not loving them to "death". I had Ph water that I needed to adjust because it was to high. Everyone on this thread are super helpful. I support your efforts. They actually look good to me.
When I started my grow I went with the recommendation of the seed seller for soil and fertilizer. That was good cause it's also used by others with good results. Once I just went with the advice I got here my grow is looking a lot healthier.
I trimmed fan leaves last night. I don't think if butchered them. 👍 🙃 🌱

To cure Pythium you need to sterilize everything with bleach. Burn an entire box (50) of match books in the grow space in one burn if there are no other plants present. Get the sulphur ppm so high that any moisture creates sulphuric acid. It will vaporize any spores left. Then try again.
What you describe sounds exactly like pythium.

It’s also possible your lights are just too weak or far away, seedlings can handle pretty intense light. They grow in direct sunlight often and well.

your grow is looking better now, a good preventative for root rot is a good dry cycle between watering a and some good quality myco.

I got it.... and it works really well, I think. Here are close ups of the tops of the plants. It's fun to zoom them up. I have no idea what I'm actually looking at. Good tip - way better than the stupid microscope that was supposed to WiFi. Don't get one.
I also got the gender test kits and went through the procedure and they are on the porch in the out going male. This should be interesting.
The tent got more crowded in the last 24 hours. Everyone was just barely damp so they all got one cup of water yesterday and Kaboom..... They were transferred to the plastic bag pots 2 weeks ago with fresh potting mix. It's obvious to me they love it. I should know the results of the gender tests in about 7 - 10 days. Once I know for sure I can remove the boys and replant the girls in their final pot - again with more fresh potting mix. How long should I wait before I feed them?
I'm super excited about the Xenvo. It's really good quality and it will be great for the trichomes when they come. Happy Growing all..... Thank you. 👍 🌱🙃

Julie
Could you please describe the gender test kit and did you find it reliable.

thank you, Julie. So you think its normal that a plant is so much smaller than the rest even under same conditions?

I will. I actually bought 2 different tests. I will explain it all as soon as I get my first test results.

Hard to say. My grow has a variety of ages and sizes. I kept sprouting new seeds as the existing babies died. Then a miracle happened.....I listened on this forum and have success. They are 14, 11 and 8 weeks. I track their ages on a paper calendar cause I'm old. The B's are the oldest and the smallest. They were stunted for a long time. The others have essentially caught up with each other in size and they are the same seeds. They are at different node counts but just as tall and happy. I don't know if that's a thing-that the plants will adjust to each other for getting ready to flower. Also the B's are Shock Trauma regular seeds and the others are Cookie Glue or some such thing and I would expect the different strains will look different as grown plants.. Also I had to switch to regular seeds because of cost till I get this. Yours look like my older ones just looking at the shape and size. I think the little one looks basically healthy. 🌱 🤔 👍 🙃

I'm working on the Scrog. I think I have all the parts today. Will send pics....But back to flowering phase. How do you determine when to flip the switch? Is the critical thing the darkness period and making sure no light gets introduced? How long does that go on? What hours do you have your timer set? Is this light cycle the same till harvest? So, there you go all. Very scary going into the next real phase. AHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAAA Thank you all my friends. :)🙃

I think different growers “flip the switch” at different times. I just switched my girls to flower yesterday after adding up the days before I can plant outside with intentions of also having new plants in the tent. My screen is about 80% full with plenty of tops ready to flower. My plants are clones from my first grow. My timer turns the lights on at 7:00 am and off at 7:00 pm. This allows me to do maintenance and peek at them during the day. I will keep this light schedule till harvest but some growers change things a bit at the end. The flower stage is fun with not much to do except feed them and maybe give them a little extra sweetness. I recommend adding molasses during the flower stage but again not everyone does. Looking forward to seeing your scrog 😎
