choxie is right. 3 gallon will work fine. I didn't know they were papery pots. I'm unfamiliar with them. Cutting them open is how I do my cups when transplanting, so should work well for you too.

I made my screen out of nylon rope and the frame from my old 32x32 tent. Lots of folks use PVC, but it isn't rigid enough for my style of stringing it (tight).

And no. The buds don't get tangled up in the net. At least not with the way I do it. I've only done the tuck under the net once, and I had to cut the strings off to avoid having to unweave the branches from the net. I found that to be a PITA so I switched methods.

I was a bit ignorant to how much room you have to number of plants. I'm not sure now that ScrOG would be better, so feel free to ignore that part of my "advice" 😂😂 Those cages may be a better way to go. Sorry about that.

I Have a 36 x 20 x 63 too a AC Infinity , What are you lighting it with ? How many plants you getting in there too ? asking for a friend !! lol
MarsHydro 1000W and 4 in AC infinity duct, fan and filter. Tent is 30" X 30" X 63". I went crazy at the end sprouting seeds trying to get any to survive. I read that 1/2 might be males so I have t total of 7. One I really think is a boy and took it out of the tent. It's a bit crowded still. I tried to position everyone so they all get light. Light is about 18 inches from the tallest. Do I raise it or keep following the plant height? I think I saw female parts starting on the first one on the right. 🌱 🙃

Not at all...I like that your scrog has a framework around it. I'm engineering in my head a scrog holder system. I like your PVC frame so going with that idea. Hanging it would be hard cause I can't really reach the back upper bar of the tent. SO basically think of the box built of pvc pipe. I would make it tall enough the net can be adjusted up or down to get it set just right. There is also a scrog made of hard plastic. Thought that was interesting but would worry about sharp edges. THe other thought was how do you remove a plant if you need to? I don't know that I would need to. The other way to use the scrog would be to hang it from ratched hooks like the light has. At least to start I could adjust it up as they grow intil I get the height I want. 🤔

So, I have another question. I went to Goodwill looking for mason jars. They did not have any but I got 3 jars with seals and the metal lock mechanism. But mason jars on Walmart today has cases/flats of them for 50% off or so depending on size. So here is the question: 8 oz, 12oz, 16oz, 32 oz.? I remember someone saying wide mouth so it's easier to reach in to get the buds.
One quart generally for storage, About an ounce in there for cure, once cured two ounces usually fit. I would like some half gallon size to try for some larger stuff.

I also like the little 1/4 quart? squat square jars for "use" storage. With large mouth all the tops interchange.

Buy 'em when you see 'em. I occasionally look on line, I've bought a bunch from Bed, Bath and beyond on line.

I'm just using binder clips with some pipe cleaners after slowly bending the stems and it's working good! Either way I would say slowly bend a few inches over 30 seconds otherwise you might snap the stem ( yep I did it on my first attempt lol)
If you want to bend stems, worry not, they are very resilient. To avoid breakage, smash the stem first between thumb and finger, then slowly bend. Some strains are easier than others, I've done this with a cola on the end and it never slowed a bit.

I've tried the scrog nets, to each their own, but I found them in the way in smaller tents and got rid of them. As tents get larger, 4x4 and up, they usually have a wrap around the corner door opening, which makes it some easier. I just adjust height with styrofoam slabs under pot, and trim, bend or tie where necessary. Try it, you may like it. Ive seen folks use two, one up higher when colas are bringing branches to floor.

I got these at Goodwill although I didn't notice til I got home that one is missing the rubber seal. 👍 🙃

You're going to find that transplanting from a fabric pot is a pain in the butt. It was for me. The roots grab the fabric and rip when you pull the plant out. It won't hurt the plant, but it freaked me out when I did it 😆. I'd consider going from starter pots/cups right to the 3 gallon in the future and practice careful watering habits while they grow into the larger containers.

Those cages would work great for main-lining. Where'd you get them? For what you're doing, I would look into the ScrOG (screen of green) method. Super easy and super beneficial. This is my screen

Most tutorials say weave it loose so you can tuck branches, but I find it better to weave it tight and tie the branches to the netting with pipe cleaners/twist ties/soft ties/etc.

Once you've topped, you can bring the branches up thru the screen. Then you tuck/tie them down. It produces MULTIPLE main bud sites that fill your grow space. Beautiful.

I'm glad the scope is working well.

Don't stress on seeing gender too awful badly. It will be obvious to you before it's too late.

The bigger the jar the better. You don't want your curing bud to bee cramped up. You want room to roll the buds around. It's like putting batter into a bowl. You want room to whip it up without spilling any over. Same basic concept.
Please explain main lining?

I only have access to the one side with door. I'm thinking. I need to get them into their final pots before I really do anything.

Julie with the above net you can make longer and shorter legs just by cutting new leg lengths

I like it. So, weaving your own isn't hard as it looks. Just need a framework. I have a bunch of green plant supports. The rubber coated steel tube ones. Gotta jump onto Amazon or Home Depot for supplies. That video is very helpful.

I would dim it .I got a earthbox in mine cooking and small pots on top about as high as I can get it . Height is a issue for that one. I have 2 other tents I am using this one to fill
On my tent I have a 4" ac infinity fan , a humidifier ,a line voltage thermostat controlling 2 reptile heat bulbs ( no lite). A Electric sky vs180.
Going to change the way it mounts to the tent to get more distances. The max I can get is 6 feet in my basement. When I first started it was all clones , only recently with seeds and at this point only feminine ones.

Man I love this community so active!

Whoops I misread the last question. For my tiny grow tent I have 2 plants. I'm sure I could have done 4 small plants, but seeds are hard to come by for purple punch at least for the feminized ones and also I'd rather just veg for another week and have less pots to worry about. I'm using octopots and only 2 will fit in my tent barely!

Mine's metal poles. If you use PVC, you can put these

On the corners, then cut a few pieces for legs of varying height.

I agree with @Bubba that a smaller grow space limits your ScrOg capabilities... In a 30x30, one plant for maximum benefit imo. Topping w/LST will allow more plants.

You're on point with waiting until final pot to do whatever training you decide to do because of how you need your tent set up.

Main-lining/manifolding is a technique that I've studied. I started to do it with one on my current grow, but I didn't finish because I needed to switch the other to flower. I'm going all in with it next grow. You basically go for 8 colas from a single node that result in octuplet colas... Identicalish.

You're doing great girl. The best thing to do when we're starting out is to K.I.S.S. See how the plants grow with basic training and pruning. Learn good feed schedules and watering habits and recognizing what the plant is telling you. Take from everyone's advice and try things that make sense to you. And most importantly...

Every time you screw up, you learn from it and get better results the next time. Don't be afraid to do things that will eventually have you growing like these folks we look to to learn.

So I've been searching this thing you call "scrog". It is interesting... Just kidding. I am essentially building this without the tray. I have 2 nets coming for 2 X 2 tent. Eight 3 way 1/2 pvc elbows and 8 fourway 3/4 fittings. I am going to use plant stakes that I have for my big garden (I will sanitize them-new but outside). They're the 47 inch tall ones and with the rubber coating they are 1/2 diameter. I will construct a box about 47 X 27 +- out of the poles-it will be strong, I hope. Then I tried to engineer a way for the scrog to be adjustable up and down. I bought the 4 ways size 3/4 size so they can easily move up and down on the frame. I'll put some stakes across to the 3/4 fitting to hook the scrog to. The one I found a picture of doesn't move. Then I just need something to clip on the poles for the fittings to sit on so they don't fall to the floor. (And I have my mini tomato cages if my project goes to hell). Hubby did approve the design - being someone who has built race and performance engines since he was practically a kid (over 50 years) I value his opinion. Thank you all.....
Still struggling with sexing these guys. The suspected male is under grow lights awaiting it's fate. Maybe I'm wrong and it's a girl.
Also, regarding curing jars. $11.97 for a flat of 12 of the 32OZ Ball canning jars at Walmart. Limit 2 which should do me more than enough.
Here's todays progress too.... trimmed off a couple of older large leaves that were blocking light to the branches growing out to the sides. I think everything looks really good but I have never done this type of gardening before. Getting close to counting 6 nodes. I should drag out the really old one to and count the nodes and see if I see gender markers. Happy Growing.... 🌱 🤔🌱👍

I saw your corner PVC fittings and the tub with scrog supports and created my own version. Will send pictures when I build.
And the Xenvo lens for my phone came. Big note inside said to read all the instructions first. The scope is cool but you really need a better one like maybe the one for cleaning out your ears -lovely.
This is the oldest one. See how close together and how many nodes there are. Do I trim any of them? I think it's almost going to be a mini plant-like bonsai. 😂 🌱🙃

My tent is getting crowded.

The only thing I don't like about it is the 1.9 inch focal point. You might be better off getting a clip on macro lense for your phone/tablet that will give you a close look at not only sex, but trichomes as well.

Just an example:

Xenvo Pro Lens Kit for iPhone and Android, Macro and Wide Angle Lens with LED Light and Travel Case
I got it.... and it works really well, I think. Here are close ups of the tops of the plants. It's fun to zoom them up. I have no idea what I'm actually looking at. Good tip - way better than the stupid microscope that was supposed to WiFi. Don't get one.
I also got the gender test kits and went through the procedure and they are on the porch in the out going male. This should be interesting.
The tent got more crowded in the last 24 hours. Everyone was just barely damp so they all got one cup of water yesterday and Kaboom..... They were transferred to the plastic bag pots 2 weeks ago with fresh potting mix. It's obvious to me they love it. I should know the results of the gender tests in about 7 - 10 days. Once I know for sure I can remove the boys and replant the girls in their final pot - again with more fresh potting mix. How long should I wait before I feed them?
I'm super excited about the Xenvo. It's really good quality and it will be great for the trichomes when they come. Happy Growing all..... Thank you. 👍 🌱🙃
