So this is what i finally decided on. Banana Blaze, Critical Oarange Punch, Blue Dream, and Purple Punch in the big tent, Moby Dick XXL, Blue Cheese, UK Cheese, and Sweet Gelato for the small tent. I will let these soak all day today and into the Jiffy Pellets tonight when i go to bed. I dropped the Zkittles OG and the Sweet Cheese... and i moved the UK Cheese to the small tent. I am not sure how well these plants will all do, but if they do well, the tents will be crowded with just these 8 plants. View attachment 369010View attachment 369011
I like a full beautiful tent. Lol them suckers get big quick sometimes.

Well I admit I do better when my plants are growing in earthboxes. But I would like to try growing bags again. I tend to underwater which can cause some issues. I ordered some of the AC Infinity self watering bases to try helping with the watering issues I have had in the past. I also ordered some grow dots but I don't know if I will use any this run. I may hang onto them for next winter's grows.

Well half of the seeds sunk to the bottom of the little cups, that has to be a good sign. Heating pad under the tray. I plant my seeds kinda shallow but make sure they are fully covered. I make sure there is a little bit of water in the bottom of the tray to keep humidity up. And my dog Lincoln wanted to get in on the pictures.

I would rather underwater than overwater.

So today I went to Rural King and picked up 4 1.5 cubic foot bags of Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I may mix in a little bit of worm castings and Coast Of Maine lobster compost in with the ocean Forest. Possibly a little peat moss and rice hulls also. That will probably be all I add to the soil. And when I top water, I can use recharge or the Neptune's Harvest liquid nutrients.

So I think I have decided that I'm going to try keeping this grow as simple as possible. I am not going to add anything to my ocean forest soil. I'm just going to run it as is... and I will water with some recharge as well as some Neptune's Harvest. I think you can get away with feeding Neptune's Harvest like once a week. So that's what I'm going to try.

Sounds like a dirt farm plan to me. Good luck!

You might consider rotating the auto water pots 90 degrees so the fill holes are toward the front of the tent. I actually remove the level indicators and fill through that hole with a battery powered fuel pump. Just stick the end of the hose in the hole and turn it on. Reduces spillage quite a bit.

I actually have a garden hose in my basement but I'm planning on ph'ing my water this grow to see if it helps towards the end of flower. And thanks for the suggestion. I probably will rotate the fill holes towards the door of the tent. I actually just realized today that I only have four 5gal grassroots pots. So I either need to order more ASAP or I will be using 3 gallon grassroots pots in the 2x4.

I really like the idea of these self watering bases but I've also seen a ton of issues from folks using them. They either get them dialed in or they don't. And if they dont...it ain't pretty. I'm not talking some newbie going at it the first time. I've seen seasoned guys have issues.

I almost went that route when I returned to growing. Now I'm a little more tentative on committing.

Well I have grown in earthboxes as well as these grass roots pots before. I'm hoping to get something really in between. I was planning on trying to figure out some way of sealing off the top of the bag to keep the soil at the top moist.
When I just used the grow bags I had very small plants that yielded enough for me and my needs but they were small. They also seemed to show some deficiencies midway through flower. My plants all finished probably under 16 inches tall. I switched to earthbox jrs and grew some of the same genetics and some different o es, and my growth exploded. I topped my tallest plants to maintain an even canopy and ended up with plants pushing 40 inches tall. The tent was packed to the gills. I'm hoping to get growth somewhere in the middle with the setup I'm trying this time.
If this grow doesn't go well, I will probably switch back to earthboxes and stay with them.

I love it when you get nice little warnings from trial and error. Thanks for sharing

That's odd you'd get smaller plants from bags. I use 7gal plastic grow bags for flowering plants. I was kinda skeptical at first but they rock. I up pot right before flower begins. They never completely fill the medium by harvest. Roots slow down in flower so it kinda works out.

I've seen tons of earthbox grows and most are outstanding organic grows. I hope this works out for ya.

So I did order some more 5 gallon grassroots roots grow bags, but I think I am going to try the 3 gallon grow bags in the smaller tent. I expect these plants to be slightly smaller plants and I do want to see how the 3 gallon bags work out. I have some smaller auto varieties and I am thinking I would like to eventually grow a tent full of small autos! So this can be a trial run for that.

I've got 3 in flower in about 2gal of medium each. My goal is to keep them small this run and grow the best ones out with monster clones next run.

I've never flowered in 2gal bags but it's happening whether I want it to or not. I'm outta medium so I'll just sit back n see how they do.

Cannabis is a pretty touch old plant.
