im trying a hydro grow for the first time, and my plants are getting crowded now that they are a little over a month old. I think that i read somewhere that its ok to cut off some of the lower fan leaves in order to make room for the "buds" and other growth. Will this hurt my grow at all?

if there crowded now i hope your flowerin cause theyll at least double in size.sorta need more info but if you must cut to"make room" the bottom has the least impact on the plant.remember, fan leaves do have a job thats more important than blocking a little lite!

hahahahha  i hope so, thats the only problem I had im my grow, didnt really expect the plant to get so huge, so I got to try LST my first grow too:woohoo: if you stil vegging i recommend cutting all the small bottom branchs, the ones you know that wont support any good bud and cut em off, maby clone em if you started it from a seed. Now for your question, no dont cut off the leaves, thats how the plant makes energy. Cut off the small runt branches and that will reduce the plant size and youll end up will all dank big buddss.:hubba: anyways, you dont cut leaves off to make room for the buds, leaves dont get in the way of growing bud, the only thing getting in the way is other plants or your grow space. its ok if the buds are shaded by the leaves too, they dont utilize the light anyways, the fan leaves do, so dont cut them. trust me.

check the link in my sig for plant strech, thats a method of supercropping and will help upward and outward growth. you can trim the bottom up but if there getting crowded id flower then weed out the males, if needed then chop foilage.

that might help later i hope. get 12/12 on, there ready if theyve been veggin a month.
