Figured that's how ya did it, but what kind of tolerances did you go through for your lots weight wise? Something that big, I imagine if it was within .5 grains +/-, it was close enough. For my little bitty 5.56 and 7.62, I'm gonna try and get 'em within .1 grain.

That was about 25 years ago, and I don't remember. My son ended up with my manuals and records.

I detailed on my 50 BMG, 7.62 Nato and 300 Win. cases, but not my 5.56.

I get 'em close for the autos, but I like to fine tune 'em for the bolt guns. Love putting five in a group you can cover with your thumbnail.

I used 1/2" orange glow dots for targets and could put five in one of them at 100 yards with my 300-Win tournament rifle, as well as my 22-250. My 7.62 Nato bolt and M1-A1 used peep sights and I couldn't see the dot at 100 yards.

My M1-A1 NM wears a Leatherwood ART scope. I can't see a half inch dot at a hundred yards with peep sites, either.

I can hardly see a 3 inch dot at 100 yards with peep sights. I hate it, but I’m going to put a scope on my 30-30 lever action and the 1914 model Mouser 30.06.

My scope works fine. I have to make sure I load my bbs properly though. Not sure of the grain.

Marlin. Dad gave me one when I turned 14. After I had another son I started looking for another rifle and boy do they cost money. Found a very nice 336 Marlin made around 1991. Cost me over 800 bucks. Whew. Will be worth it one day when I see my boys face.
I want to shoot a deer or two with it. Use it a season or two. I want them both to be able to say they got “dads rifle”.

They made those Marlins in a ton of calibers.
