Figured that's how ya did it, but what kind of tolerances did you go through for your lots weight wise? Something that big, I imagine if it was within .5 grains +/-, it was close enough. For my little bitty 5.56 and 7.62, I'm gonna try and get 'em within .1 grain.

That was about 25 years ago, and I don't remember. My son ended up with my manuals and records.

I detailed on my 50 BMG, 7.62 Nato and 300 Win. cases, but not my 5.56.
 
I get 'em close for the autos, but I like to fine tune 'em for the bolt guns. Love putting five in a group you can cover with your thumbnail.
I used 1/2" orange glow dots for targets and could put five in one of them at 100 yards with my 300-Win tournament rifle, as well as my 22-250. My 7.62 Nato bolt and M1-A1 used peep sights and I couldn't see the dot at 100 yards.
