My dad was the best carpenter around in our local.
I grew up building houses with him, and I am still known to take on a side job from time to time.
I took on a small remodel job about 5 years ago. The guys girlfriend had a couple 10 year oldish kids, and he had a padlock on the fridge. He was a weird dude.
We din' have a padlock on the fridge. There was never anything in it unless we went crabbing or fishing.

What was kewl was that it was a gas fridge. So the whole neighborhood would wrap their stuff up with their names on the packages, and give them to us to keep cold until the power came back on.

We had a Servel gas refrigerator that ran on natural gas or butane/propane growing up.

spent the day getting my asss kicked by a water pump...still not done after 3 attempts...finding the wrong size fastener jammed into a hole and then ripping a cotter pin across the back of my hand gave me cause to shut the place down and fire up another joint...time to feed the face and lick my wounds...
I wondered where you were.
Now I just learned sumpin'... Scavenger hunting was a daily part of getting the eggs. Them bastages would dump an egg just anywhere.
TBH I thought I was getting my chain yanked but it did work took only a few days. Some worked by the next day. I was amazed.

Guess who lost internet this morning and just got it back on? God, I hate commiecast. A pox on them and their future children.

Used my downtime to put the rock rake on the tractor and rake up all the Grinch turds I'd left yesterday mowing wet grass. Took an hour. Seven (7) front end loader buckets full got trucked to the compost pile that's now over six feet tall. Gonna be sweet organic ferts come spring.

Have I mentioned how much I hate commiecast?

Statlink works great only one outage longer than a minute in a year and a half.

Hey everybody, ol gut been dealing my a ration today. Have had the chills most of the night last night just couldn't get warm. Setting here with a electric throw on me on high, still a slight chill but better. I think it is a lack of food, everything went straight through last night. Tried to eat some banana, didn't go real well but did sip some liquid jello. Knee is doing very good, was a little swollen but a 20 minute ice pack helped that. May try to roll me one here in a bit. Yall have a good evening.

Fellas I was walking on it the day after surgery, doc is real happy with it. I do take my cain to keep everyone happy, there is no pain. I guess the pain I I went through the last 15 or so years was a lot worse. Waiting on my orders to outpatient therapy.
I was walking the same or next day too. Both my replacement knees turned out well and the key was to take PT and stretching seriously and to make a concerted effort to walk perfectly straight without bias or limping.
