Spent the last fargin hour catching up. Jeez.

Woke up at midnight... I've showered and gotten dressed... and it is not yet 3AM

Worried about my little generator. The filter spongy thing melted and some of the goo got sucked into the carbonator when I started it. Now it only chugs, and won't run at power. It is a Honda EU2000i <-- It is so compact, I cannot even find the fargin carburetor to clean it.

Crap like this bugs me.

I know this is no consolation Unc but at least rejoice in the fact you bought the EU2000.
Its a great little generator. I have a 3000 and a 1000,.
The 1000 is very quiet and my triple torch lighter uses more gas
They make a compact 3000 now .
The 1000 is so light my lunch is heavier

So Joe, if you were shopping for a generator today what would get?

Well IMHO it depends and I would give you my thoughts on situations
To me I like propane ,its clean and runs nice. Fuel is stored properly and the tank is a 100 gal or more.
I have a generac 8000 standby with auto transfer .
It went on overcrank and I knew it was a old battery.
I didnt replace it for 6 months and saved 4 hours run
time ( has a excersize clock). put a new batt in and started right up.
The generac was not that expensive to what you get.
For a customer we got a honda gas 3000 and it is a great generator ,not cheap but i then had to put a Gen tran manual switch and all that that takes.
The generac without gas hook up was about the same.
The customer was a able guy to slepp out said generator and connect and start up.
Also during the year start from time to time and keep a source of gas.

Now ,the generac set up runs auto ,so if in time your Mrs is home and you are fishin it would come on without her doing anything.

I really love the honda for a true portable . The generac is not.
I have a 8kw.some folks go bigger if needed.IMHO get one big as you really need it.
Wells need power if you got one
going big to be big means more of a fuel consumption and the need for fuel.
I know the inverters run frugal on gas.
No matter what you do you need a way to connect into your house.
If it is you its one thing ,your Mrs another
A manual transfer where you can connect the generator ( or keep it plugged in) roll out the garage and press a button for the elect start is sweet and doable .

My brain aint up to speed.
The honda eu2000 is excellent for someone who could shed the load where needed.
run the ref for a hour run heat as needed.
You got to watch your heat if its hot air .some air handlers connected for heat and ac are 220v.
that as well as a well ( for sure a well)
long story short take a survey and see what you really need ref ,heat ,ltg in key spots,os lites.well. forget central AC. If you have central ac have a 5k btu ac and put in a room in the bad heat.
So see if you need 220volt is a thing .
Not sure if the new hondas EU 3000 is 220 volt
