I don't get it. Even a cheap junk jack stand is better than nothing at all.
I watched a brand new floor jack come apart once while it was holding a car up on one side. My boss at the time was under the car, heard the jack start creaking and got out from under it just in time for the jack to literally fly apart.
That was at my first job as a professional mechanic, and the incident left an indelible mark on my mind.
By the way - that floor jack was from a reputable tool supplier that has an international fleet of trucks with a big red S on the side of them. Not Harbor Freight junk, by any stretch. ANYTHING can fail.

My older Brother is a Abogado and 73 and retired.
He set up his office in his basement.
His basement is exquisite with 8 foot ceilings.
He is still working on a big case with Sufolk co.
I told his wife I want to invent a pair of pajamas that have a jacket tie and pants .a big onesie !
That way he can wear it at home
You would have to pay me a lot of money to dress in a suit everyday.
I also advised my SIL to keep her ears open if she hears a thud!
His head hitting that big $ desk makes a sound like when your boat hits the dock
I told him the bathroom I put in was only supposed to be for the boys and friends and was not sized big enouigh for your ass.

I was doing a quick rear brake job on a mid size chevy no stands
I was off to the side, at one point my leg was under the wheel well. Yep it fell . I got lucky it landed on my steel toe work boots. My boot was holding up the car jack was down.
I sat there and for a min I said oh crap Im screwed as my boot began to fold in half.
At this point I got my one leg into the wheel well outside edge and did a reverse squat with one leg and lifted the car high enough to slid my foot out of the boot.
A neighbor across the street was laughing at me, I was like at what point were you going to help me.
Even do a broking motor mount on one side by jacking just that side up and reaching down just as the jack slipped?
