I don't get it. Even a cheap junk jack stand is better than nothing at all.
I watched a brand new floor jack come apart once while it was holding a car up on one side. My boss at the time was under the car, heard the jack start creaking and got out from under it just in time for the jack to literally fly apart.
That was at my first job as a professional mechanic, and the incident left an indelible mark on my mind.
By the way - that floor jack was from a reputable tool supplier that has an international fleet of trucks with a big red S on the side of them. Not Harbor Freight junk, by any stretch. ANYTHING can fail.
