Hope all had a good holiday. My daughter and SIL were over for an early dinner the just left. Glad to see the place is still standing.

I envy those of you that don't have to lock your doors. Like Oldster I live in the suburbs of a crime riddled sanctuary city. Everyday the chaos moves closer.

I have both indoor and outdoor security. I never leave anything unlocked! Car, house boat trailer even has a lock.
Sadly, it's the same here and the trend of times in Portland.

The have nots go to where the haves live to score. They probably steal from each other too, it's just less productive because they don't have much.

Not only steal, but trash property just for shits, giggles, and meanness.

A few years ago I would go down see the prince of 5th street, (Joe Lasala's joint) and score an Italian sausage. The drop in on the Larocca brothers and press the door bell on their warehouse door. Pepperoni sticks, olives, Parmesan reggiano, all the good stuff. Only a memory.

Restaurants, when we came, right past the stand girl and straight to the kitchen in back. Don Pepe the chef showed us what was good today and what he would make. Salmon Oscar, Calamari, Steak Modeiga, whatever.

He would come out, tell stories about cooking for the boys in the joint. He was a great chef (RIP) and had served as Aristotle Onassis personal chef, as well as Mary Hudson of Hudson Oil.

Good times. All gone, restaurant, Don Pepe
And Big Joe gacento...
All gone

The idiots running this country are actually teaching and condoning the art if stealing. We are actually creating a generation of thieves. What is the endgame to this kind of behavior....
Well according to the 1930s commies once "the necessary idiots" get the right people in office they will be dealt with. Usually ends with a mass grave. You would think someone would pick up a history book?

I felt the same way about the Tatalias ,the Barzinis and the Corleones 😟
Still not over Clemenza's passing☝️

When riots were here in the civil rights days, Black Panthers would go to area food sources requesting handouts. One famous bakery in town (owned by the boys) had enough. They grabbed him up and stuffed him in the oven! Then began a conversation about whether or not to fire it up. Yeah, go ahead, no! Bread would be ruined! I'm not cleaning up the mess, and so on. Never came back.
