The maiden flight went well. Had a few short flights while adjusting the carburetor. Propeller is too big, will have to order a smaller size. On the third tank of fuel I let time slip away and ran out of gas. Wouldn’t you know I was on a slow and low pass over the runway. Landing gear was down since I was going to land in the next lap. Right at the end of the runway she ran out. Snapped both landing gear off but Lady Luck was with me. Normally the landing gear gets ripped out of the wings but this time the gear struts snapped. Plane is fine, but got to replace the landing gear now. I’ll step down to a little smaller prop. She was running pretty good on the last tank. Smaller prop and it’s going to scream. Overall I am happy with it. Of course I’m upset I pulled s dumb stunt and ran out of gas.
very cool
What state r u in ?
My buddys dad has a lumber yard full of balsa ,enough wrap towrapa 747 and enough servos ,linkages ,glues ,irons ,controllers in his basement

Us Sneakydickers -- always the ganja virgins. (*sigh*)

But in this case, his corner bidness musta thrived on the "ornamental tinder boxes of brass" <-- as if we don't know what they are...

Moreover, he most ricky-tick sold (*ahem*) "tobacco" and also the papers for rolling.
viz: "tobacco by the paper"

Georgia. Balsa is very expensive now since the Govt subsidy on wind turbines for electricity

Good afternoon kind and gentle people. 46 degrees here. Started out overcast but the sun won out. A bit windy, but it'll dry up some of the snow melt. Next big "mega storm" is supposed to hit Thursday. We'll see.

Just shoved four White Castles down my gullet and chased 'em with a couple of chicken rings. Gourmet food, for sure. Getting bagels built for tomorrow's breakfast with a couple of huge goose eggs for filling.

Low 70's among the oaktrees. Planted a cherry tree today. Waiting on the apple trees to show up at the farmers market next. Tomatoes are starting to pop up. Wont be long till the peppers pop too.

Off to drown some minnows and to try to snag some crappie's lips...
