I use to do some evil things for money, but I did grow up.

But I still want more money.
I do understand where your coming from and I respect that. Me personally I like flashy things. That might be because I had none in the family when I was growing up.

Accountability is such a rarity these days. At least you aren't kidding yourself.

...and yes, you desire these things because they were out of reach when you were younger.
I know exactly how you feel about that.

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and youre okay.
Money, its a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think Ill buy me a football team.

Money, get back.
Im all right jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, its a hit.
Dont give me that do goody good ********.
Im in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a lear jet.

Money, its a crime.
Share it fairly but dont take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise its no surprise that theyre
Giving none away.

I always believed it is "the love for money" that is the root of evil.
As for the female parts-can't make up my mind-lol
That ain't evil!!!!

I understand effen about the mentailty of profit. They do get carried away. And mass marketing?
Chances are if you buy something somewhere at a good price, the reason you get the good price is because your personal information is being sold as a commodity.

I had an uncle that passed on a few years ago.He was a pharmacist for years and he made GOOD MONEY.
Always had beautiful house.
But believe it or not, he was the calmest coolest uncle I ever had.
And he never was a p***k about it.

this thread is funny.

i make the money by contributing to the economy and working, growing for profit is counter productive to the ultimate cause, which is legalization. Some people have their reasons, but growing just to make money is capitalizing on the weak and does not benefit this country, not that the money spent to fight the war on drugs is doing anything.

Fair enough.

But why do you embrace that mentality?

The quote actually is "The LOVE of money is the root of all that is evil."

Money is actually a very sophisticated form of slavery. Money is a means of controlling resources, and labor. We have plenty of resources to go around in this world, also plenty of energy. The problem with the monetary system is that the wealthy don't control abundance, they control scarcity.

An example. Two guys. One of them discovers 60 billion barrels of oil, the other figures out how to make solar panels 100% more efficient. Who will become the most wealthy? I would argue the first person.

Now the reality is that solar panels only harvest 5% of the energy they are actually receiving. A 100% increase would bring that up to 50% and the entire world could run everything it needs off of solar power. 100% of the worlds energy needs could be free for everyone. Well, that doesn't make anyone any money. So we stay on oil, not because its more abundant, but because the few, and powerful can control its scarcity. In my town, gas has dropped to $1.70. 6 months ago, it was $3.80. Did someone suddenly find an oil reserve that doubles that of the known worlds oil? Of course not. Global economics is controlling scarcity, not abundance.

Abundance leads to a price decline, which equals more work for less money. When you can control scarcity, that's when you can really make money. Think about it, it goes into the drug market, pharmaceuticals, Health care, jewelry, automobiles, etc, etc.

There was that American Indian who said something 200 years ago...
He said - once you have cut down the last tree and you have poisoned the last river - than you will know that you can not Eat Money...
I can't remember his name, but I think he said it very well, and long ago before we got to where we are today... Wars, pollution, poverty, starvation... A sick capitalistic society that is abusing our planet and its resources...
All to feed the beast of the Corporate world...
People are not born Greedy. it is this sick corporate mentality we are bombarded with every single day, that makes people greedy... Education system, TV, Marketing, Celebreties... All products of our monetary society...
... and money is by no means Freedom... Freedom DOES NOT exist in the world we have created...
This isn't gonna last much longer...
It's time to take the power back...

im an electrician who makes decent money. middle of the middle class type of guy. i can afford a nicer truck than my 84 f250, but i don't need one cause i take care of my old one. i could eat more beef and veggies from the grocery store, but i have land to hunt and a half acre garden to fill the freezer and pantry. i have a 30 year morgage thats being paid down at a 20 year rate so i need the job i have. i have toys but most of them have a working function.
i have a child that i want to be able to afford to send to a good university with out him having to take out morgage size loans. but he'll get the same deal i got ; " you have to find a sport, and you have to work your *** off, and if you work your *** off and can't get a scolarship then we'll see what we can do to send you to school. but you don't sit around and wait for me to give you something for nothing." this is how i learned to be as self sufficent as possible, for me anyway.

i can afford to put my wifes truck in the shop, but last wednesday after work i replaced her waterpump myself. money is nice to have but, if you have the know how, the work ethic, and the will to learn you can at least save it when you have the chance to.

live simple, live happy (i already copyrighted that, phrase swipers!!!)

what a thought provoking thread....

my 19 year old son made an interesting observation a couple of weeks ago,
he was invited to a birthday party of a friend of his ( this friend comes from a family who lives on government assistance and mom is a mess, coke, meth ect.... she is always asking her son to get her drugs, and he does) at this party the whole family was there he told me, aunts uncles, grandparents and they all partied heavy together and had a lot of fun. but he noticed they had an attitude unlike one he had never experienced before, he noticed by their words and comments they did not feel worthy of nice things. and they acted like people with money where too good for them.

My son said they where always apologizing for their home and the food, they assumed (his words) that he was looking down on their life.

he was at first confused, but then concluded that is their choice to live the way they do and he said he now understands how this life gets passed on from one generation to another. It really opened his eyes; he had no idea that people would feel so down about themselves or their background that they would feel unworthy of nice things and money in general. and what amazed him the most was they seemed okay about it. they would say things like "this is how it is for people like us" or "no point in dreaming about what will never be for us. cuz we can't ever afford that."

then he thanked me for never settling for less than what I thought I ever deserved for myself or my family. I taught him that no one is more than what they feel and money should never play a roll in how you feel about your self. ever.

yea, I've rambled on... just thought that was interesting he picked up on that and actually talked to me about it. LOL

I really dont care so life is filled with twist and bends this is human prosperity at its best.

This is as good as it gets

We live we die but the best thing we have is we laugh

it's not just money. we're losing what it is to be human (well apart from being greedy, we're still good at that)
we think we're so smart, we created all these things to make our lives easier.. but most of our species have lost the skills we will need if something ever goes wrong. (i think it will be comical, as the rich will be the most lost, while the poor/lower class still has some needed survival skills)

we create these machines to make things easier. and we're too strupid to see that they will be our downfall.
we build huge factorys now run by machines. losing many jobs once held when we humans made the things. now machines make the machines. more and more you see 1 machine taking the place of 10 men.

i can only imagine where we're heading even without some great catastrophe. what are we going to do if we continue to live in a monetary society, when machines are doing all the jobs?.. how will people make money and survive then?

we've gotten to smart and dumb at the same time.. smart in that we built things to make our lives easier.. but dumb in that if they were all taken away from us now, most our race would be lost.

If you wanna go tie yourself to a tree go ahead its not about the machine stole my job or the rich got us like this its our own self management I SEE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of people

COMPLAINING about the economy but what do they do they spend it on luxurys SUV's Mercedes BIG HOUSES FASTFOOD CORPRATE NONSENSE WIIS PS3 XBOX 360's

THIS IS WHAT BRING OUR ECONOMY DOWN THE FEAR IN THE ASIAN MARKET IS THAT WE WILL STOP BUYING THERE ****

And you know what americans do Build more house build more OIL WASTING PRODUCTS

YOU KNOW WHAT I HAD A DEBATE ON ETHANOL saying america COULD run OFF IT but you know why we cant its because the CORN SYRUP SATURATES OUR EVERYDAY LIVES

Last word of advice its URBAN SPRAWL AT ITS BEST THAT IT SUPPLY AND DEMAND with CREDIT LIMITATIONS
