The one and only clone I bought was from a dispensary. It was the Black Vietnamese/Northern Lights strain that I cloned and grew out. The guy told me the history of the strain, the development, and the fact they had "bugs". He gave me some white liquid stuff and told me how to mix it with water and spray 'em. I isolated them from my grow room and followed his instructions. Never saw a bug, and never had any problems with 'em.

They'd claimed the plants were a 12 week flower. Nope. 14 weeks, and 16 was peak. It was great smoke, but I've had as good that finished a lot faster, so I dropped it.

Isolating new plants is a smart move anytime. I've pondered buying a clone from the local shop. Hell, they're only $20. That's way better than a single seed offering at a seed shop.

Clones stands for you better think like they are infested whether you see it or not. I have never used a clone but every old time grower on YouTube has isolated and “bombed” the plants with massive spraying before they are allowed in the grow room.

I hate bugs on my plants so much I loathe to trade smoke with other people

Of course in the days of compressed bales of pot then break it all apart I feel confident there were neither pesticides or bugs because the cartels just wouldn’t do that to us

Helped split up a bale of "Columbian" weed once. It was Jamaican. You could see the Paraquat spots on a few of the buds. Looked straw yellow/brown, and when you touched it, it would turn into powder. We pitched anything with a yellow spot on it.

OMG you instituted quality control!

Them dirty clones are costing you big time. Where exactly did you get these clones? Maybe post it up so nobody buys from them.
Facebook marketplace. She has since removed any posts selling clones.
It was not my only option but it was the cheapest. Online ordering was upwards of $120 per clone shipped.
I didn't get the clones myself. My partner did because he was itching to get started when we started germinating seeds. Had I been with him. I would have seen the nymphs, and seen the male from the start and saved us $100. That and I didn't actually get down on the floor and check the plants out until partway into week 2 when we started planting seeds in soil. At that point I was watering and said, "hey why does this Skunk look funny?" That's when I found out about the infestation. Thrip nymphs under every leaf just chomping away. And I was starting to water the BabySitter when I noticed she was in fact a he. Sacks hanging everywhere like a pride parade in New Orleans.

No pictures but today was productive. $60 PAR meter from amazon arrived today. Figured out that the app is NOT even close. Dialed the SkunkOG light up to 70% to achieve the 40 DLI I'm looking for. The other lights are around 30 DLI for week 3 of the seedlings. Also started the new insecticide we got. Athena IPM 150mL/Gallon was mixed up and everything got sprayed. Even the seedlings. They can be sprayed as early as week 1. That's directly from the IPM pdf I downloaded for their Thrips procedure. Were not really at the infestation level, but we figures a couple stronger doses before the ladybugs arrive will help.
It's supposed to be a 14 day schedule, but I've increased the heat to speed up the reproduction of the Thrips. So we can stop after 9-10 days and the next day release the ladybugs. IPM kills soft bodied insects so the ladybugs will be okay.
DAY 1: Spray 150mL/gallon. 2 days off. DAY 4: Spray 150mL. 2 days off. DAY 7: Spray 150mL. 2 days off. DAY 10: Spray 120mL. DAY 11: Ladybugs.

I found this article about how to keep ladybugs alive for future crops. This isn't word for word but this is what I got.
You can use a small tray and small 1-2 gallon pot that must fit inside the tray upside-down.
Tape all but 1 hole on the inside and out of the pot. Make sure to tape inside as it prevents the ladybugs from getting stuck to the exposed adhesive from the exterior tape. And make sure to leave 1 hole exposed for them to travel through.
Put your container of ladybugs in the tray. This container will be their egg laying site in the future. Add a food source, raisins are a popular choice. Add a small cup of water.
Ladybugs need both food and water to reproduce. Open the ladybugs container and cover with the pot. Some will come out immediately while the rest utilize the food source inside the dark chamber you've created. Carefully place the chamber near the highest concentration of pests in the garden and let them go to work. If the ladybugs know there is more food available outside than inside they will join the ones feeding on pests, in my case thrips juvis and nymphs
Note: the lifespan on a single ladybug is 2 years. 1 year of that is spent as an adult. It also takes a year for repopulation. You will need to refresh the food and water periodically while attempting to keep most of them inside.
