T5 flouro or 400w HPS?

Ok, I am sure that this has been discussed before but I need to decide which will be better for me. Right now I have 2 t8 flourescent grow spectrum lights. In the next day or two I will be buying either a 2 foot, 4 bulb (2 grow, 2 flower) t5 or a 400w flourescent. I do not plan to grow too many plants at once (6 max). I would like a light that will work well for veg and flowering. A few notes...This will be used in a towel closet which measures 2 1/2ft wide and about 8 feet tall, moving the light as the plants grow is NOT a problem.I want a light that will work for veg and flowering.Would like it to stay under $200, but I understand that lighting is important and would rather buy a light only once. So if going above my budget will get me a better light then I will pay what it costs.The closet I am growing in does not have a door, there is a blanket covering it and the 3 walls are painted flat white. The reason I mention this is because I would rather not get into a situation where HEAT is an issue. There is a fan in the closet that is on for about 6hrs a day to promote strong stems. Heat is not an issue now and I don't want it to be an issue in the future.Hopefully I have given all the info for you guys to make the best recommendation for me (and my girls).Smoke on!

i got a 4-set of 48" t'5 all bulbs 2700k. i know a 400w hps will do better on the outcome, but i believe your power bill will be cheaper, and definately alot less heat with the t5's. for a 4 pack its only 130 plus shipping. this is the one i got, http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=49346 in less than a week, very noticeable changes in every good way. its just what the "heat" factor will allow, good luck.

HTG is a great place to buy. I use both cool and warm bulbs with a 1:1 ratio. Can't go wrong with them IME. :aok:

I have this light, while fine for vegging I dont think it will flower very well.
It is only 10,000 lumens an good for 2 sq/ft.

A 250 watt HPS puts out 30,000 and would be about right for 2.5x2.5 area.

u can use a hps the whole time i do, i know it costs more but my bud looks aewsome and the only thing i have to do is adjust the height once in awhile, as for the heat i dont know where about u are but its cold were i am , my closet stays btw 70 and 85 degree a lil cooler than that at night but there isnt that much heat put off if it cold where u live now and then in the summer i do out doors, i have been using this hps for years plus a couple small floros, my buds still turn out nice, goodluck which ever u choose
