Floater Scrog...A different approach to Scrogging

I only top my mother clones. I cut those poor gals up something fierce while making more clones. After all the torture and I'm tired of the strain, I put 'em outside in the pot pen. They'll get six foot or more tall and be six foot wide or wider. Buds all over hell's creation.

Thanks mate. Yep very easy, even able to remove it so I could trim her. Was also able to stretch the branches out a bit more so I could get it closer to the smaller growth. Been great learning from you too.

To me topping is a rookie move. I don't mean that in a negative way but it's way overrated and actually takes away the full potential of the plant.

Holy **** mate, that plant is laid out nice. That floater makes it pretty easy.

Well, ya don't have much choice but to top a mama plant..lol.

What bothers me is when someone jumps into a thread and almost demands that someone top a plant. To me they are just another alpha male ignorant of the fact topping is not necessary when seeking multiple. There are alternatives..lol

It's awesome to see you working that floater and killing it. It is an easy method and very productive as you will soon see. Working all those taller buds to the perimeter is the ticket. It opens up the center which can add a lot of bud.

What size is that screen? Looks big

I’ll measure when home mate.

My bro says the same thing, I need to top if I’m looking to get lot’s of colas and scrog. I said no them two branches you produce when you top are already there ,if you bend main stem 90 degrees you have the same effect as topping.

Oh man your preaching what I've been saying for years. Good to see someone else...Get it! Lol.

With a mature plant or clone you get alternating internode spacing. For every leaf comes a branch. That adds up pretty quick. Use a flowering clone and branching multiplies tenfold.

I mean do you see a reason to top? If so, where would you start? Lol

A seed grow needs early training to achieve the multiple colas without topping.

Exactly what you said...I've said it a thousand times. Why remove 3 bud sites to create two? Bend her over and keep that main. It'll be the largest cola of the grow. Nothing slows down. It just keeps growing. Control the plant with a floater and reap all it can produce.

Topping with a scrog is kinda dumb if ya think about it. Your using the screen to control the plant so what's the point? The plant will kick bud sites as it grows under the screen. So I don't get that. I hear it a lot too but just kinda chuckle 🤭

I've said that to myself many times. Bend her over 😁

Final trim I think also sorted out bud sites into their respective squares. Currently the floater is 14/12 sqrs 60/70cm, I’m hopping the centre growth will make it to the screen🤞 if not still looks productive. Removed all bottom growth well where get my big fingers to

That center will catch up. Ya got a lot of growth coming. Looks great.

That's a nice size screen paired up with a well vegged plant. Gonna get real green in there soon.
