Street Lights How many watts???

My friend has a street light that he got from work, he was gonna use it for his grow but hes not ready. he was gonna let me use it till i get my light.So how many watts are they??? it dont say on there any were from what he said.

i dont no how many watts but they are bright as hell lol ,,why you got 1 blunt ,, and if so u gonna try and grow with it lol i want to see that grow it would be awsome

hey tom whats up. yea i do plan on growing with it only if its the right kind. i herd MV lights are VARY HOT and thats not good. so if it a MV light i wont be doing anything with it

That sounds like HPS and if so will be great, MV lights are not good to grow with.

From what ive seen most street lamps are 400 watt or less, depends on how tall the pole is.

Hopefully it is not LPS as I have never heard of anyone growing with these.

like GD said depends on how tall the pole is,where im living they have recently installed some 250w hps at 12'-15' height

Hey everybody.

Because HPS is so efficient, they are becoming more and more popular for lighting streets. The yellow color of HPS is sometimes considered light pollution, because it render colors incorrectly to the human eye. So they illuminate Interstate exits, and Rest Areas, other non-critcal to the eye areas, etc........

The color when illuminated will give it away. Yellow for HPS and LPS. White for MH and MV (yuk).

LPS will not work for growing. It is very very yellow.

The lamp does not have numbers on it?

i havent seen the light as of yet.He said it aint nothing on it, but i dont think he know what to look for. ima try to get to his house 2day. i really hope its an HPS. i would really love if its 400w.
