well i finally decide i was fed up with hauling water,trying to get rid of all the cases of empties.its a pain in the arse.i ordered a new 100 gpd ro system.the thing is,i am no plumber and i will be needing all of you fine peoples in-put on this project.i should get it sometime next week.thanks to all in advance.

it should be real easy Andy, I put mine in in about 2 hours, including running the line into the bar sink and refigerator [for ice maker] :aok:

thanks puffin.lol the last time i had a small plumbing issue i tried fixing it myself.wound up costing me more and calling a plumber.but i'm dang sure gonna be caught trying.i have little patience though.

mine came already together, all I had to do was uncoil a copper line, thread it thru the house where I wanted it, screw it together to the outtake, then tap into the feed line and connect it to the intake of the filter, and ran black line to drain

I did add a sink outlet and connect it to my ice maker on the fridge, but it all took me less than 2 hours I recall :aok:

My filter has a run-to-waste line for the unfiltered water.. anyone here know how to "properly" connect that in a sink setup? :confused2:

I just have it weighed down in the sink, when I use it. A little ghetto, but it works.

It should have came with a fitting and clamp to go on the drain pipe under the sink. All you do is drill a small hole in the drain pipe. line the clamp up, tighten it, and connect the line to the fitting. Presto your done.

It didn't come with such a clamp, and nothing about it was mentioned in the instructions, but I'll try to find one at a store.

It looks like a saddle valve but it should be a quick connect drain clamp. You can find them at most hardware store. A saddle valve of the proper size will work, you just do not want to use the piercing knob. Just drill your hole, The metal piercer will crack the PVC, Unless you have a metal drain pipe.

well when it gets here i will find out.i am sure i will be calling upon you all for this project.i am just tired of hauling water.getting rid of all the cases is another matter.looks kinda suspicious having 15-20 cases of empty distilled water jugs sitting at the curb.i guess i can save a few cases to stock up some ro water when i get it going.thanks guys

I have an entire shelf down stairs just for the RO water I get out of my system. I fill up 4-6 gallons a day and just stock up till I have 50 or so. When I do my res changes on Sunday I go through more then half of it. Then I just fill up more jugs. Just let us know when you are ready. It is pretyy straight foward. The only thing that sucks is wroking under a sink. You do not have much space down there. I know I am not as young as I use to be and laying on your back under there can cramp you up pretty good.

I have a 4 stage "portable" unit so I put the waste line in the clothes washer and the filtered line into a 5 gallon jug.I can't stand to waste water.

I just ran a 200 ft copper line out to the grow, carrying all those milk jugs back and forth got to be a pain, now the faucet is 10 ft away and makes for an easier go of it :aok:

btw, when running a water line outdoors, it needs to be burried below the frost level, UP here I go 28 inches and it's fine, any less and it could freeze in winter

i feel ya buddy on the under the sink deal.i have had 11 back surgering and am not as spry as i used to be either.time will tell.i'm sure with you guys help i will get it done.again thanks all.

That's a good idea. I wish I could some how run my to the sprinkler system but I am no engineer.

All I had to do was install mine under the bar sink in the finished half of the basement. I wish I had the land to run a 200 ft. line.
