Lol I live with hoarders they would never find it. Mom still has receipts from paying her gas bill before I was born. I get rid of 4 dumpsters a month. I am getting to the 60s now

i went through that with my ex…and her mom was that way and when she passed , her home was like an archeological dig , like you say , the layers were in years..

in her case , I understood why or partially why …..

Make sure you check out everything. When we cleaned out my mother-in-law's house after her death, we were bagging up calendars from the early sixties on up. We already had 18 bags loaded up and was working on #19. As I was tossing it into the bag, a fifty dollar bill came floating out. I shook the calendar and a couple of twenties and a ten fell out. Yikes! Back out in the garage to drag back in the other 18 bags.
All in all, we found a little over 4K that would have wound up in a landfill.
I could just see MIL laughing about the Easter egg hunt she'd left us to find.

I found something my dad got in the military when he first enlisted. In the late 50’s. I took it to white sands and they put in in their museum. It was from the early 1900s some type of communication device. Theres s plaque donated by William S Lockwood along with his rank (which I do not remember.
I took him to show him and he git s kick out of it.
