hi ppl, my problem is that one of my seedlings (2 weeks old)"cosmic nights" started to go brown at the tips, only the 2 bottom leaves,(not the round ones).
this plants growth has been phenominal, allready 4" tall at 2 weeks.
I have only been giving them water without any ferts.
when i noticed this i began giving them a very dilluted amount of nutes.
Only this plant seems to be affected, the others are looking good, although they`re much smaller.
I think, due to the rapid growth that she just needed some food.
however, i did add "worm castings" to my pre-mix of sterile soil and perlite, with just a touch of "bone meal" and a little lime.
I know i`m probably worrying about nothing, but if someone knows different, or has any idea of what it could be, i would appreciate your opinion. cheers

a pic would be greatly beneficial to diagnose your prob man. Anytime you see leaf discoloration i would say stop nutes, flush and plain water till normal again. You also might want to check your ph (of your water you use to water the plant with) and make sure your not locking your plant out of recieving what it needs. I believe the hydro section has a sticky on ph for plants that has a soil list as well, as i dont know how your growing.
ok seeing that you have soil i think your looking for a ph of around 6.2 to 6.8

I`m a soil grower m8,here`s a pic of the problematic gal.
no other plants have this. I use bottled water "PH 6.4" and i only started giving nutes when this problem appeared, due to the size and the very quick growth, she`s only 2 weeks old man, i`ve got a crap camera so appologies in advance for quality.
All feedback greatly appreciated man, cheers.

it seems to be spreading up the plant, bottom to top.
this morning i noticed the tips of the second set of leaves have slightly browned tips, hardly noticable but shows that it is spreading.

hey shuggy, I know you really love your babies, but those bottom leaves getting a little yellow is nothing to stress about. Heck, my plants are about one meter tall and I just pluck the bottom leaves right off as they turn yellowish. As the plant gets bigger the bottom leaves will fall off, it´s normal and nothing to worry about. If you start to see this on some of the upper leaves, then you can worry. I think your babies look great!

thanx KP, but i`ve edited the post as i`ve now noticed that the tips of my second set of leaves have got slightly, hardly noticable browning of the tips:confused: .
Any ideas man?:grinch: :48: :grinch:
worrying about nothing??

Well, it sounds like you are over fertilizing if anything. I say this because you have added worm castings and lime to the soil mix which contain nutes. then if you give them some extras at only 2 weeks, it could be your problem. Usually you are supposed to wait about 3 weeks before starting to introduce nutes. What I would do is just flush them with some water. And maybe hold off a week on the nutes until you see that the problem isn´t spreading anymore. I think they will be fine, your babies are young and full of energy. Just lay off the ferts for another week. Keep us updated.

thanx for the reply Kindphriend, but i have to disagree.
all my other seedlings, planted at the same time, with the same soil mix are showing no signs of over fert and doing good:confused: .
As i said previously, this began before adding any additional nutes.
only half a cup to a gallon of soil with the worm castings, and a tbs of lime to a gallon also.
if it was a "hot mix" they would all show signs of it, as i previously had this hot mix problem with my second grow. All were burned after only 10 days.
any other ideas?
cheers for the input man,
Shuggy.:48: :fly: :stoned:
