New Box

ok i've decided to try another box out. its a pretty simple setup so let me know what you think.. this box is 16"x16"x 52" or something pretty close to that. im gonna flower 1 plant at a time in this box during the winter due to low temps in my shed. im gonna be usin a single 150 watt HPS 15,000 lumens should be plenty. what i need to know is how much heat i should expect from the 150 watt bulb and the best way to vent it? any ideas are welcome.

instead of growin several small plants i wanna flower 1 plant at a time to the height of around 4 feet. so i know i'll induce flowering around 2 feet dependin on the plant. any way any advice would help. ok heres the box

Nice box. My 100w hps doesn't produce much heat at all. Neither does my 175w mh. Sounds like a great plan imo.

I have 2 150W HPS in a 2 x 4 x 4' closet. I have them in a cool tube, but am not air-cooling the cool tube as temps have not been an issue. In addition, the ballasts, though remote, are in the same closet. I have a passive air intake in the floor. A computer fan is mounted at the top of the closet and hot air is ducted out into the attic. This is all I have to do to keep the temps under 80. It is 77 outside now and 70 in the closet. I am amazed at how little heat these lights put off. I will be really interested to see how they produce.

i installed a fan just a little while ago. i had a small space heater that didn't heat so i took it apart and lucky me it had a small box type fan in it with a flange around the edge so it could be mounted, jackpot! i put 4 42 watt cfls in side the box and the temps went up like 5 degrees turned on the exhaust fan temps dropped with in just a few minutes to the same temps outside the box. i'll post pics shortly of the box with the fan installed. i think its gonna work pretty good. now all i need is my light.

i hope to harvest my winter buds in just a few more weeks from an outdoor grow. this is just something to play with while its cold out. i'll still have a cfl flower box untill i figure out how well this box works.
