Hey everyone, Ive been lst'ing 2 ladies for about 6 weeks and was wondering if anyone trims leaves from the center for better light penetration? These girls are beasts.

hey thanks for question smoky...you are going to find a lot of diffrent opinions here..me personally I only remove the leafs that touch the soil...I do see some on here that trim away a lot..so i would say its prsonal prefrance...just keep in mind if you do start to remove plant material..not to remove more then 1/3 at one time..then give a day or two to recover...justmy .2

KEEP M GREEN

I thought it might increase yield by alowwing more light to penetrate to the lower and inside branches, as it is very dense right now.

I also have a monster LST, i am taking the more outside stalks and bending them down some and tying them to the fence behind where the plant is. Also i am laying down some of the salks and tying them to the rim of the pot, trying to open up the center some. This is my first attempt at LST and i am amazed how those two in that pot are growing. It no longer has a main stem, the one's i was tying to begin with no longer grows as vigorously as it did.
Good Growing

This is my first attempt also, and my girls are crazy big. Ive got like 20+ main branches, but the middle of the plant is so dense that im afraid it will not bud well in the center. Maybe ill try your idea, had thought of that myself. Thanks TC

The only thing that can absorb light is leaves, so to cut leaves to increase yield is somewhat counter productive. Think of your leaves as the solar panels that power your bud production.

Also if you start cutting healthy leaves your plant will start putting out more leaves to compensate for the leave loss
