The Old Man bought a brand new pickup truck one late fall/early winter. He had a load of stuff to take out to a job but didn't have the time, so he asked me if I'd do it. Sure. Liked to froze my *** off. Told him about it and he laughed and said it never did get warm. I went up to the local auto parts store and bought a new thermostat and changed it in his driveway. He was a happy camper when he used it the next time. Brand new truck with a thermostat that came outta the factory stuck wide open.We use to remove our thermostats in the summer to keep our engines from overheating.
And yeah trash in the heater core can keep enough coolant from flowing through the block.
He shoulda just taken it back to the dealership, but in construction, time is money.
