I used to rebuild cylinder heads, including racing heads (double hump - angle plug 350 Chevy heads). We did welding, new seats, rotary broach, new cam journals, etc. We pressure tested them for leaks. We did it all, aluminum and cast iron. Tractor heads, too.Well the truck that just won’t leave have us another present. First, we had to pull the engine to have a cylinder head replaced. But parts dept ordered the wrong side head. So we had it repaired. Reinstalled by another tech. He bent the valve while timing it and we didn’t know till it was running. Engine comes back out. Pull heads and send both to machine shop. Get them back, cam bearing journal looks like it was media blasted. Send both heads back. Get heads back today and the guy putting the heads on is confused. I come over there and damn if we don’t have two left side cylinder heads. Call machine shop. They say they didn’t do it. Only one set heads at the time for this engine. Well we dang sure didn’t pull two left side heads off this engine.
I don’t believe in voodoo but sometimes I wonder
It was really cool when Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee had his drum set lifted into the air, spun upside-down and all while he was drumming his *** off! It spun back upright, lowered down and the whole band hammered out the rest of the song. Wild! Was remembering the concerts I used to go to, and the most memorable one was Metallica - Guns and Roses at Arrowhead Stadium in '96. GnR was late, so Metallica played another set that lasted almost 2 hours! I was down in the mosh pit, slam dancing and acting wild. Weed was everywhere, and a little alcohol made it through, too. Fun times!
Hey, it's 45 and clear right now. Yeah, I have been smoking all night/morning, and it's looking like I will be drinking coffee soon and pushing on through the day. What's your temps like Jag? I was just outside and it quite cold here. I'm fixing to get smoked out and try and get back to sleep. Another hour and it's coffee time. Not ready to throw in the towel just yet on sleep. Know anything about Corvettes?
A new place opened up the street, might have to try it.
Once upon a time, I had a Chow/Husky mix named Thor. Not sure exactly how much he weighed, but I would guess at 150 lbs. His paws were bigger than my fists, so it fit well having Thor's hammer. His tongue/mouth had the classic purple color notable to the Chow breed, and he had a huge, thick mane around his neck and shoulders that resembled a lion. He used to play tag with my neighbors female pit bull, which led to love nips and puppies.
