When I was working on the addition to the Mason building down at the U of M, they were having a pigeon problem. The kids were slobs and left garbage all over the campus, and pigeons found a reliable source of food. They brought in some kind of bird of prey, a falcon I think, and he went about in eradicating the pigeons. He nailed one while I was looking out the window during break and flew up into one of the tall trees to dine. He's ripping feathers outta this bird and getting down to the good stuff. The feathers are raining down while a couple of gals walked under the tree. They stopped and wondered what was going on. When they finally looked up to see where the feathers were coming from, the shriek that came out of them could crack glass. Mother Nature in all its glory.

**Company made up the diff as if I was full SS age until I got there. More than twenty years ago.

Tomorrow I go to the Secret Service job to Escort a plumbing crew until 11am,,, and then I'm heading to Galveston Texas. I have already booked a hotel room on the beach at their fking expense. Can't believe i have to go out of town right before my 2 weeks are up. Might as well enjoy the beach. They are paying for it. Wait to they see the hotel bill.

I am beat. This time of year I am so busy I don't know where to start. Been culling picking and hauling trash from the veggie garden. My back is gonna scream at me tomorrow morning .....right now I just need to sit a bit. Bet I have 30 to 40 lbs of green tomato's . Have boxes of them ripening in boxes with news paper layered and covered.

Then their is the indoor garden. How do I get myself into this. Wouldn't be bad at 50 but almost 25 years later you can sure feel the years. To make matters worse I haven't gotten a decent nights sleep in days. To sum it up .....this old man's ass is dragging.

Interesting. That video mentioned oil tankers - I took a class at a Diesel School many years ago. There was a piston ring hanging on the wall that was of a 6 foot diameter. It came out of a single cylinder two stroke Kawasaki oil tanker engine, which operated at just 75 RPM's. Many folks don't realize how much energy and efficiency there still is potentially available to be squeezed out of IC engines, which is why I think the EV rush is just that...a headlong rush.

Even the Wärtsilä still requires fossil fuels.

Depends on year you are born. I think hopper and I are same age. Once you reach YOUR full retirementage, which for me was 66 and 2 months iirc, you can ( and like Hopper I did) turn on social security and work all I want with no penalty. You do have to pay income tax on it.

Hey everyone, just checking in. My mom finally passed yesterday just after noon after a long hard fight at the end. I’m am thankful that her pain is finally over. I stayed at her house for about 3 weeks until last night when I could finally come home and sleep more than two hours at a time waking up to give meds. It’s good to be home again. It was a busy day today with a lot of decisions to be made and clearing out mommas stuff and calling the list of people to be notified…. I think it will slow down more as time passes. Hope to soon be getting back into my morning routine coffee, cannabis and buuulshitz with y’all. Hope every one is well My plants are alive but outtacontrol

I owned my own business for almost 30 yrs.
What I made wasn't any of my workers business. I paid them well and on time. Took me yrs to build my business and a lot of hard work. Most employees have no fking clue what it's like to run a business and the work that's involved to keep it.
