Just for curiousity, the occasional talk about electricity comes from thread to thread which is mostly for price of bill. But is there actually a chance that if your electricity spikes they may think somtins up. If so how much?

IMHO they are looking for large growers. You should be fine as long as you don't have (10) 1,000 watt hps lights hooked up. ;)

rule of thumb; had a 5 cubic ft. chest type freezer, when we sold it the elec.bill dropped $30 a month:>)

then when setup grow room 1KW HPS @ 240v, 300w tank heater, pump, timers, exhaust and circulation fans.>)

The bill went back up $30 a month @ 12-12; 18-6 runs about $50. Now the latest config includes a full veg room w/ 3 T-5s added $20 a month, and a clone station added another $20 a month. all 3 res's have 300w tank heaters so when all systems are go I figger on $75 a month over normal house usage =>O

Now what was my point?>P O yeah how does the power company know you didn't just buy a 20cuft freezer or an entire workshop full of tools. They seem happier the faster the meter spins!>D

a good rule ive heard of is one 1000w per bedroom in the house.
3 bedroom house should let you run 3 1000w's with no insane electricity spikes.
