How do you convert a light

I have two wall light fictures i want to convert to be able to plug in.
i was wondering if this is possible.


i have three wires
a lack a white and what apears to be a ground.


any suggestions?
its gonna be for some cfls.

Yea man, it's totally possilbe. As far as suggestions go, Its hard to know what you're doing specificly, so I say get a good electrical do it yourself manual and be careful!
 
yes. if its a 3 wire. white black green. green being the ground get a 3 prong socket. 3 wire cord. an wire together. in the socket, the green go's on the bottem red on the right black on the left.
 
It is fairly easy, you should be able to find good directions on the internet with pictures--just do a search. The black wire is generally the hot, the white the neutral, and the green (or copper) wire the ground. I would recommend putting in a GFI outlet. If the GFI is installed on the first outlet on the circuit, it protects every outlet past it. Make sure that you have a breaker large enough for whatever you plan on plugging in. Also if these lights are switch controlled, the outlets you put in will be switch controlled.
