Hi I have some jack Hera plants and they have started going pale yellow and some leaves getting brown on and falling off at 1st there started drooping so I thought I was over feeding them so I left to dry out a little en they stopped drooping but still are yellow any ideas what it could be and or what I could use to get them back geen, I would put photos on if it would let me do this from an iPhone

How old are the plants, what are you feeding? Is it just the bottom leaves or does it affect the whole plant.

Welcome by the way!

You have to resize pics before you can post them.

It is hard to diagnose problems without pics. But to even try, we need way way more information. In addition to what Rosebud asked: what kind of soil are they in, how large are the pots, are they inside or outside, have you checked the pH, etc, etc. The more we know, the better to help you.

Hi thanks for reply the plants are about 6 week old and are just going into 3rd week of veg they are in 20liter pots I am currently using coco as medium and feeding them canna a and canna b at 1.2, most of the plant in all of them are like this, I will try add pics do you know if you can do it on iphone

HushPuppy is a coco grower, may he will chime in. From what I have picked up on is that when growing in coca, the coco is lacking in cal/mg which needs to be added.

Sum 1 mentiond to add something call Dyna grow but I can't seem to find it aniwhere does ani1 think this could work

coco does require cal/mag...Im a bit confused as to this

Hi thanks for reply the plants are about 6 week old and are just going into 3rd week of veg

do you meen they 3 weeks in flower/bloom?....when I ran in coco I was feeding everyday....and cal/mag every other day...Best of luck on this

Oh...wwelcome to the passion

:48:

No I had them on just stand by for a few weeks b4 I put into veg they are now on 3rd week of veg I was feeding them a liter every other day but I seemed like I was over feeding as coco was still wet

Hi UKj13, I suspect that you are growing in coco as soilless and not as hydro. Coco can be a bit tricky in soilless setups. As was said above, you need to feed with cal/mag all the way through because of the ionic properties of coco. Also, you need to make very certain that you are keeping the PH correct as coco tends to pull the PH down. With coco, you can capture the water runoff after watering and then check the PH of it. But you also need to know ahead of watering what the solution PH is as well.

You may have a combination of problems happening. If the coco isn't drying out enough then you may not have enough soil aeration. Coco drains quite well but doesn't dry quickly. I always mix about 20% pearlite into my coco to help to keep it from compacting. I also aerate my water continuously so that when I water my plants (that aren't set into my hydro system), they will get plenty of oxygen to the roots. That is what your issue sounds like is happening, the plants are drowning from a lack of oxygen in the soil.

If you don't have a fan blowing directly on them, put one on them a.s.a.p. as that will help to dry them out some and put some oxygen into the medium. Also get a fish tank air pump and aeration stone to keep your solution oxygenated. This may be a dumb question but since I don't know your level of experience I have to ask; does the pot have holes in the bottom and/or sides at the bottom to allow proper drainage? And do you have good ventilation in your grow area? these 2 things are very important :)

Hi I do have a 10 fan and filter ventilating the room and pots do have holes, how can I get more oxygen to the roots should I drill more holes up side of the pots, is there any additive that will pick them back up, are my plants doomed or can they still pull through, and thanks for the help hushpuppy
