Hey guys and gals. This is my first attempt at growing. I have been lurking on these forums for a few months now and decided to give it shot. I have 2 (hopefully girls :hubba:) growin right now. They were planted 5 days ago and seem to be doing just fine. I am using Miracle Gro potting soil, the 3 month feed stuff, 2 t8 "grow" flourescents, and the seeds I got going are from a sack of sour diesel. Wish me some luck! Here are a few pics of what they look like thus far.

PS: I put the lighter on the last pictures so everyone could get an idea of how big they are this far into the grow.

PPS: Any idea why the one does not have a straight stem, it's kinda weird. Anything to be concerned about?

I'm pretty new myself so no advice; they look good though. What kind of lights are you running?

lol naw, the stem being crooked could be from the lil seedling growing towards the light. welcome to the forums and hope all goes well!

:welcome: to MP,dont worry for the stem-looking nice and healthy so far, just dont give them any nutrients and you'll be ok. :D

Thank you guys for all the kind words. The stem on the crooked one seems to be straightening out by the minute. They both seem to have grown a lot overnight and the first set of leaves are getting really big. I'll get more pics up in a few days when there is a little more change.

Jash, you said not to give the plant any nutrients. Is that because I am using the MG soil?

Audix, the direct link to the lights I have is here. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=76376-1390-G9721GROW-WH
I will be using these through the veg stage then switching to a 400w HPS when it is time to flower.

looks like everything is in order, well not only that but the plants are still young, barely any roots have developed, plus the mg soil still has ferts in it, it'll be fine till flower time :D you can always pump em still but not recommended.

Wondering if I should transplant them when they get a little bigger into another soil. I have a bag of Black Magic Organic potting soil that I could use. Hmmm, maybe I will just throw a few more seeds in to germinate....what the hell...putting in 4 more seeds to germinate today.:)

looks like ur caught up in the green fever lol
Sounds about right :D

Both plants are starting to show their second set of leaves. Height has not changed drastically, but the first 2 fan leaves have defiantly showed some growth. I did notice that parts of the leaves closest to the stem are showing a little bit of lime green/yellow color but I think this has to do with new growth since the plants look healthy as can be. Maybe someone can look at the pictures and let me know.

you got a fan on those plants with that fluoro tube that close? i'd keep em on it 24/7 if ur vegging 24/7 like that

Hey DC, you can't see but there are 2 flouro's there. They are on 24/7 and a fan is put on them 6 hrs a day every other day to strengthen the stem but heat is not an issue with the lights they are at worst warm to the touch but even if the leaves were hitting them I don't think it would be a problem because they run so cool. Anyone wanna chime in on the yellowing?

Getting bigger by the day it seems like. Both stems have straightened out and are getting much thicker now that I am running the fan in the room a little more than I was before. Growth has nearly doubled in the past couple days. Question for the experts, when are these girls gonna start getting stinky? I thought maybe I smelled a hint of skunk in the house today but am not sure. Also the yellowing that I was talking about a few days ago seems to be just fine, as I expected. Feel free to chime in and let me know how they look!

A couple of weeks into flowering and they'll really start to smell

Lookin great GMO. I use flouros also and check mine out. Hopefully those little ladies turn out sticky! Any questions just ask. Also I have a helpful little post on "lights" with the color differences and the "aquarium and grow" lights you get at wal mart. Go for the 6500k daylights!

Just checkin in with everyone. The larger of the 2 plants is DEFINETLY getting stinky, in a good way :hubba:. More pictures tomorrow, but as of today growth is still going strong. I am having way too much fun growing these silly plants!

Should I start these plants on any nutes? Remember, I am using MG potting soil (3 month feed stuff). If so, which ones should I look at using? Thanks!

Everything is looking great gmo. ;) I wouldn't give them any nutes during veg as long as you have them in MG soil. You have to remember that soil is already full of nutes. Now once you put them into flower you can start nutes at very small doses. Like 1/4 Tsp. per gallon of water every other watering. GREEN MOJO for the babies. :aok:

with mg soil i usually wait till i see signs of depleted nutes before i give nutes, its wayyyyyy to easy to screw ya plants over with mg soil.
