Just started germinating these thursday last week, and so here we are now. i dont know what variety they are, but hopefully they wont be crappy. assuming i dont kill them before they flower.

pics are pretty self explanatory

except for the one in the tiny bowl. i had tons of seeds germinating, had extras, and decided to try for the 1 oz challenge i saw. i used the cup from a crystal light 2 qt mix thing so its somewhere around 1 oz

looks like you are off to a good start, good luck with it.:D

i have 6 plants growing, 2 which are experiments (one in a towel with fertilizer pellets and another in a one ounce cup), one which needs repotting now, because he germinated after 3 surgeries (northern lights, the only on i know what strain it is...had to cut it out of its shell twice, then some membrane holding the leaves together) anyway, these are today's pics. the second set of real leaves is coming in nicely on all of them, except the 1 oz one, which seems to have some problems, seems to be genetic, because the leaves wont open.

but anyway, i finally opened the instructions to my light, and MAN are they funny. take a read for yourselves.

as of now, i only have one 24w HO flourescent, putting out 1750 lumens, but its daisy chain-able and i can add as i get money, which would be this weekend, doubling my lumens to 3500. im only counting on one plant being female, and i intend to start a mother plant bonsai, taking cuttings, and instantly putting those on a 12/12 lighting - you basically should end up with tons of mini buds attached to the roots. cant wait for my plants to mature.

a good way to get alot of cuttings really quick is to tie the plant down. When you do that you make the plant think it's top been cut, so it starts to produce more side branchies

yeah, i was planning on using a combo of tying down and cutting, but mostly tying down b/c that doesnt actually hurt the plant.

yea i really dont like to cut it slows the grwoth for a few days, but you'll get 2 nice sized colas. when you tie down youll get many nice sized colas. Looks like a crown of buds in some pics ive seen

more pics - the experiment in the 1 oz cup was having some serious problems i think were genetic. its leaves never really formed...just weird "clubs" so i pulled it out, and planted another random plant in there, which looks like it likes it a lot so far. all my plants now are showing their second leaves clearly, including my northern lights, which is making me happy. its also showing some vertical growth, and this weekend it should get its new home in a 6" pot where it will spend the rest of its life. I think im gonna let that one grow normally; veg it for a few months, then flower - no bonsai for my best plant assuming it isnt a male. if it is, i may try to pollinate one of my cuttings and get some seeds with nl heritage. anyway, here they are, and damn they're looking happy.

ps anyone think they can tell if which are more sativa/indica at this point?

i saw somewhere along time ago, they had 16oz cup challenge, iam still going to do that, only 24oz cuz i dont have 16 lol, just seeing what i end up with they look good so far, keep up the excellent work :p

WoW, ok i didnt know you had clay pots. You either gonna have to put a few sticks in there to tie the string to, or get some plastic pots so you can jus put a hole in the rim of it to tie it

hombe those pots are freakin tiny, i think he still needs transplant?

hey hey, been good. hows everyone and thing going lol obviously afri's gonna have his hands full when those come up lol

You probably wont be able to tell what is sativa or indica for a while. Looking good so far tho- Hope you have the space for those 30-40 seedling as they blow up in size =) Good luck with the grow tho, i'll be watching to see how this turns out for ya =)

hahah dank, its for a challenge. i think i need to start flowering it now. ill need to get a box for it or something so i can make it dark. as for the tying down, did you tie down seedlings or clones after a week? i wouldnt even know where to tie this plant down from. will another stem grow from at the roots if i bend it over or will they only grow from nodes?

EDIT: Mr. Unsleep, i only took the best looking germinated seeds, and threw the rest away. i dont have that kind of space in my closet or money for lights. i only have 5 growing right now.

well, when they start growing branches is usually when i do it, take the top of the plant, and gently and carefully bend it down, you might have to gradually do this, but once you get it anchored sideways it will promote the inner growth to go towards the light. inducing branches.

Ah ok. I'm doing a bit of LST on my bagseed grow as well. You can check it out if you want. But yes, if you lean the main growth over horizontally it exposes the nodes to more light and produces side branching. Now the main cola will always start to grow up again towards the light, so you will have to keep tying it down every couple of days. I also started tying down the side branches as well, as they grew really fast. What you want to try and do is keep the main cola just slightly higher than any new growth. Because when MJ grows it produces a hormone when flowering, and it sends this to the highest point on the plant. If you trick the plant into thinking it has 7-8 high spots then you will get bud sites all over these side chutes.

I mainly started LSt to reduce my vertical growth and produce more of a bush. I've really enjoyed the hands on time with the plants and it keeps my eyes on them more. Looking for bugs, males, hermies, general health, etc.
I've since put my plants into flower, so I'm not Tying them down anymore.

I don't have any great pics of this process, bc I have a crappy cell phone camera. I did tie them around the edge of my pots tho. As soon as a the main growth was tall enough to bend over and reach the outside of my pots, I started tying them down on a circular fashion, working my way around the side rim of the pot.
