The one and only clone I bought was from a dispensary. It was the Black Vietnamese/Northern Lights strain that I cloned and grew out. The guy told me the history of the strain, the development, and the fact they had "bugs". He gave me some white liquid stuff and told me how to mix it with water and spray 'em. I isolated them from my grow room and followed his instructions. Never saw a bug, and never had any problems with 'em.

They'd claimed the plants were a 12 week flower. Nope. 14 weeks, and 16 was peak. It was great smoke, but I've had as good that finished a lot faster, so I dropped it.

Isolating new plants is a smart move anytime. I've pondered buying a clone from the local shop. Hell, they're only $20. That's way better than a single seed offering at a seed shop.

Clones stands for you better think like they are infested whether you see it or not. I have never used a clone but every old time grower on YouTube has isolated and “bombed” the plants with massive spraying before they are allowed in the grow room.

I hate bugs on my plants so much I loathe to trade smoke with other people

Of course in the days of compressed bales of pot then break it all apart I feel confident there were neither pesticides or bugs because the cartels just wouldn’t do that to us

Helped split up a bale of "Columbian" weed once. It was Jamaican. You could see the Paraquat spots on a few of the buds. Looked straw yellow/brown, and when you touched it, it would turn into powder. We pitched anything with a yellow spot on it.

Them dirty clones are costing you big time. Where exactly did you get these clones? Maybe post it up so nobody buys from them.
Facebook marketplace. She has since removed any posts selling clones.
It was not my only option but it was the cheapest. Online ordering was upwards of $120 per clone shipped.
I didn't get the clones myself. My partner did because he was itching to get started when we started germinating seeds. Had I been with him. I would have seen the nymphs, and seen the male from the start and saved us $100. That and I didn't actually get down on the floor and check the plants out until partway into week 2 when we started planting seeds in soil. At that point I was watering and said, "hey why does this Skunk look funny?" That's when I found out about the infestation. Thrip nymphs under every leaf just chomping away. And I was starting to water the BabySitter when I noticed she was in fact a he. Sacks hanging everywhere like a pride parade in New Orleans.

No pictures but today was productive. $60 PAR meter from amazon arrived today. Figured out that the app is NOT even close. Dialed the SkunkOG light up to 70% to achieve the 40 DLI I'm looking for. The other lights are around 30 DLI for week 3 of the seedlings. Also started the new insecticide we got. Athena IPM 150mL/Gallon was mixed up and everything got sprayed. Even the seedlings. They can be sprayed as early as week 1. That's directly from the IPM pdf I downloaded for their Thrips procedure. Were not really at the infestation level, but we figures a couple stronger doses before the ladybugs arrive will help.
It's supposed to be a 14 day schedule, but I've increased the heat to speed up the reproduction of the Thrips. So we can stop after 9-10 days and the next day release the ladybugs. IPM kills soft bodied insects so the ladybugs will be okay.
DAY 1: Spray 150mL/gallon. 2 days off. DAY 4: Spray 150mL. 2 days off. DAY 7: Spray 150mL. 2 days off. DAY 10: Spray 120mL. DAY 11: Ladybugs.

I found this article about how to keep ladybugs alive for future crops. This isn't word for word but this is what I got.
You can use a small tray and small 1-2 gallon pot that must fit inside the tray upside-down.
Tape all but 1 hole on the inside and out of the pot. Make sure to tape inside as it prevents the ladybugs from getting stuck to the exposed adhesive from the exterior tape. And make sure to leave 1 hole exposed for them to travel through.
Put your container of ladybugs in the tray. This container will be their egg laying site in the future. Add a food source, raisins are a popular choice. Add a small cup of water.
Ladybugs need both food and water to reproduce. Open the ladybugs container and cover with the pot. Some will come out immediately while the rest utilize the food source inside the dark chamber you've created. Carefully place the chamber near the highest concentration of pests in the garden and let them go to work. If the ladybugs know there is more food available outside than inside they will join the ones feeding on pests, in my case thrips juvis and nymphs
Note: the lifespan on a single ladybug is 2 years. 1 year of that is spent as an adult. It also takes a year for repopulation. You will need to refresh the food and water periodically while attempting to keep most of them inside.

Early arrival. And not a day too soon.
IPM hurt some plants. They look burnt or crippled. But actually sitting there for 40 minutes watching the ladybugs go to town on some nymphs was satisfying.

Re pinned the skunk. Haven't had the money to get screen for the floaters. They want $75-$95 for a roll of 48" tall wire fencing at home depot. But I'll try to get on that after Christmas.

Only for the 24". I'm going for the 48".
Lol go big or go home..

So cut two 48 long n zip tie two 24 wide. Just overlap a grid n zip. I've often given thought to a few larger screens. I'll give it a go eventually. I just need a huge flowering clone to throw under it.

The skunk got repinned temporarily. I'll pick up the roll Thursday.
But we have a lot to do to setup that grow room the way I want it.
Natural Gas took the win over the Liquid Propane.
"Steve"'s dryer was changed to electric last year but the gas line is still there.
We're going to run corrugated line out of the laundry room into the wall of the grow room and mount the flange with a ball valve right on the wall. We can then hook up the regulator to that shutoff and run the NG burner for CO².
It's auto shut off with and electronic module so no open flame pilot required.
This will likely eliminate the need for a heater in the room.
The burner plugs into the titan controller ppm meter which plugs into the trolmaster CO² outlet which links directly to the trolmaster controller for automated on/off capabilities. Ppm meter can be set to 1000ppm 1200ppm or 1500ppm. Also has a fresh air option that we likely don't need as we can just shut the unit down for the same results.

And I found something last night that is cheaper than all the trolmaster stuff I would need to do the same thing.

With Wifi. I can plug my heater into work1 and humidifier into work 2 for the winter. AC into work1 and dehumidifier into work2 for the summer.

Wednesdays update was forgotten. Stoner moments happen. Going to be taking a few cuttings off the SkunkOG tonight so I'll get more pics.
Skunk is really droopy again. We only hit it with half dose nutes and it's just not acting right. I'm beginning to think this might be a soil pest problem or a root disease problem. I have to investigate when she dries out. She's about ready for another transplant anyways so I can check on it then..
1000002831.jpg

I mean it COULD be a lockout problem or something. We havent used any additives with our nutes. Discontinued use of calmag+ and b-52 after week 1 when it had the N tox.
it's got tip burn but we had just done the IPM spray a few days before which royalty farked up the rest of the plants so we released the beasts to feed on the Thrips, their children and their children's children. Because we're evil like that.

^^They heard me say I was training my plant. 🤣🤣🤣
Plushberry is stacking nicely. Lemon Lime Sherberts got pinned. I pinned 1 Dreamberry last night but didnt pinch because it was still really weak and flexible. Id rather not stunt the autos in anyway. Dont need them losing weeks because that extends my veg even more on everything else. Were pretty sure that dreamberry will finish by valentines day, ULH will finish around the 1st of march. Which throws us into flowering rhe remaining plants and clones we have going in the room at that time.

And my seeds for the S&C giveaway came in. Unfortunately the chosen method of shipping for those giveaways is not up to par. 1 seed didn't even make it all the way here and went missing in transit(Durban Poison) One seed was crushed in transit(Bubba Kush). And finally, 1 seed made it(Mimosa). SCORE! They have offered to ship replacements for the missing and broken but with a padded envelope. To prevent it from happening again.

^^Think i need to pop this seed immediately... 1700-2000g/plant sounds like it wants to go in a 20 gallon pot next to a few pineapple express clones and their mother. 2000g is like 4lbs. I'll attempt it but that seems unrealistic inside.
Second update should be around midnight on the east coast. Unless I fall asleep typing again 🤣🤣 😴 💤

That skunk of does look like it has that I need a new pot look about her. I bet she'd bounce right out of it in a new pot.
I'm hesitant. It's only been in a 7 gallon pot for 3-4 weeks I'm not sure that's enough time to become root bound. She was even stunted for a couple weeks. But I'll check it out.
