Big sticks grow. Looking great in there.
It’s the genetics. I follow a simple three part nutrient ratio. No ph or ppm checks. Every two weeks change the water. Im no green thumb. I just follow the directions a guy here gave me back around 2015 and I never looked back. Well. There was that one time I got the spider mites.

I'm a creature of repeating what works too. Find what works and work it like a boss. Way cheaper and more productive than chasing the latest greatest way to grow.

I caught them from some clones. I figured out I had em, and the guy I got the cuts from figured it out after I did. I never got rid of them. Fought for months. Even threw all the plants away and started fresh. Bleached. Sprayed. You name it I did it four times. I guess being packed up for a few years and moving to a new house finally did the trick. I hope I never get them again.

Evening folks. Down in the basement, making my rounds. Bloom is almost seven weeks now. About 2 weeks to go. They are bleaching out. Too close to the light. I’ve broken stems and laid them over but still ran out of room. Oh well, it will smoke just fine.
6 out of 6 Acapulco gold popped, and 4/4 Durban x SFV popped. Into rock wool until they form a rootball. Then into coco.
Super stoked about the A Gold. Always wanted to try it and I finally have room. Wasn’t sure about them. I originally got those seeds around 2016. And I don’t know how old they were back then. If I like the smoke, I have enough seeds to find a male and make a seed run.

If those are old beans I would just make a seed run if you get a male

They are at least 8 years old. 6/6?popped. I’m sure I’ll get a male.
Any tips on a seed run? I’d rather not have a full pollen explosion in there and have so many seeds the weed is not worth smoking. I had a male once in the early days and he ruined the whole run 😂. More seeds than bud.
I figured to take some branches in there over the course of a day or two and shake it around.

Yes if you don't want to pollinate your whole tent. If they are all still viable good job storing them. The beans I was gifted from 2016 only 3 of 5 popped. They were stored in the fridge.

Tips
1 separate the male.
2 collect pollen
3 dust a branch or 2 after they start flowering.
4 keep her separate for a few days or seal the buds in a ziplock for 48 hours.
5 remove the bag and spritz the buds you pollinated with water it will neutralize the pollen.
6 put her back with everyone else.

Note When I mess with pollen I do that first then shower and change clothes. It will keep thing from spreading.

Did some work this evening. Took some cuts, trimmed some plants and added some coco to the seedlings. I need to clean and restart an incubator so I probably won’t get to the tent ventilation tonight like I wanted. The new tent should be ready Sunday.

Flood and drain setup. Not automatic yet. Needs more than a five gal reservoir too. But for now it works.
Still waiting on the current bloom set to finish up before I bust the grow up and shuffle the deck.

Cool to see a hydro setup being built.
The coco loves a good flood and drain system. And it takes a lot of workload off me. And I dang sure can’t afford the kits these days. Bought a 6 pot set from active aqua in 2017 and I swear it’s doubled in price.
I bought some extra pots and I’ll make my own control bucket. Worst case I manually flood and drain by plugging in pumps by hand. Eventually it will be automatic.

That's the only way I'd venture back into coco is with some automated setup. Love the growth with coco but that watering all the time sucks. The thought of using a ph ec meter doesn't turn me on either..lol

So if you do a regular coco grow do you need to water multiple times a day ?
For several grows I watered by hand. Once a day. If you need more than that you need a bigger pot. Best way is to soak the plant. I used buckets for a while. Put each plant in a bucket with nute water for 15 minutes or so.
Veg is still hand water till I get the grow redone. And a switch is bad in my flood bucket so I manually plug the pump in each day when I water.
