Well there you go, Clinton. I knew some outdoor experts would chime in. Once you read the thread PCDuck gave you then you'll have some specific questions to ask. the most simple way with good results is to dig a hole as big as the amount of potting soil you want to carry, fill it with potting soil, and plant your seedlings that you have already started in cups. you can also amend the existing soil with potting soil. Living in chicago, you might want to top your plants to keep them short. I am saying this because of the population density of your area and IMO this increases the chances of someone finding your plants.

good luck,you seem eager to grow...Take marcnh' advice..the last thing you want is to start a grow,become a proud parent and then have it taken by someone and put out an amber alert on MP.Be careful and plan ahead!!! Stay cool

What do you have for seeds. That might be the 100$ question. There are some seeds that do well in any conditions. Others it makes no difference what you do and you will still fail. . Slim
