I am not believing my eyes today after the third application of abamectin aka avid the mites are still alive. I think that because it is widely used in all my area that the mites are tolerant to it. I have no other explanation. After the first two attempts i thought the bottle is expired i went and bought a fresh one to try. So frustrating and i am switching to flowering soon i will try sulfur tomorrow. This will be an uphill battle i have been there.
I remember the last time I was battling mites, some people said it is recommended that you rotate 3 different treatment courses because(as you said, the mites become tolerant). As hopper says above, the alcohol, soap and water could be your second. I have used DE, Lost Coast Plant Therapy, Dr Zymes and spinosad in the past. The DE shouldn’t be used in flower since it is an irritant but I think the others are accepted as safe in flower.

The practice of spraying pesticides is not the way to go. It is too much effort not like simple foliar feeding you have to cover all surfaces and sides and you have to do it in summer mornings not at night to prevent pm and covering up makes it even hotter to cover my area is not easy especially now after 3 failed applications i felt like trashing that sprayer kurt cobain style... I cannot get any helping labor to my grow i have to do it myself. If i had access to i would have been using cucumeris predatory mite and such. Hang sachets and leave them. They will do the labor. It is an old problem that i found no solution for yet. I will have to find a way to breed those mites. Absolutely have to work on this after i finish this treatment. I must not get lazy after i eliminate them because they or the aphids will come back. I need to find them in nature. Then find for them a food source that is accessible. Maybe i can make sort of a small farm for them to thrive where i place freshly infested plants every while. I think i read they use spinach for its convenient size and spider mites love it. Maybe i could help out local farmers too. That would justify the effort put into it.

DE works so does BT both are all natural and organic

Dr zymes needs to contact the pest to work. This solves nothing. Tedious work and not sure to work. for all you in the US you can buy sachets of predatory mites.

Just when i would think that i was going crazy while considering breeding my own beneficial mites, i found this lady who grows all sorts of plants and who has 2 videos a year apart on how she breeds her own cucumeris it is quite a find. This is her newer improved method I already bought the bran and cotton swabs today and i have bee pollen in the fridge i hope would work. I have to find cicumeris mites in the garden. I got my lens ready. Now i will really look crazy lmao

Use Forbid, and rotate with Floramite, and Avid. Forbid, kills eggs. It is an Ovicide. Use Forbid first. Wait 10 days. Use Floramite. If theyre gone, dont apply anyhting else.

Also, all 3 of these have been detected in plants for up to 6 months.

I cannot handle the heat of covering up or having to reach all sides of leaves. My grow is not that small and everything is automated it feels primitive to have to do that. I need the beneficials' army. Fumigating foliar feeding or spinosad is another story. It is fun and easy to do and you dont have to go to the underside of each and every leaf but mites are frustrating to deal with in this way especially when i am trying chemical pesticides and that ******* surviving.

I made a couple of traps and one of them has a rove beetle and a few cucumeris mites on the cotton i was almost not believing my eyes. This is the beetle the mites are too small i dont have a lens to take a pic but i spotted at least 2.

I sure would stay the f uck away from this Kind of Poison

I captured cucumeris mites and some are still alive 5 days later. I am trying to breed them and make them populate. Most importantly i know how to capture them. Once i make them multiply i can start making release sachets and hang them around my garden. They are able to eat small mites and eggs and larvae but the big adults are oversized to their likes but they destroy all their offspring.
